Trump and his sycophants said that the reason the protesters were peaceful was because they were attended by old people, like me.

There were people of all ages who held signs and protested.

You can say that again. Like me. I'm 80 years old. And I'm not in a wheelchair, although I respect anybody who is, and was at one of the protests. I'm sure there were many.

I’m 87, and was set to go until I got sick.

This is an on-going effort, though, and I will be there if humanly possible, next time.

Meanwhile, join Indivisible, Move-On, and other like groups to stay in the loop.

We can do this.

My big brothers did not volunteer for service in 1940s just to see us lose our democracy now.

In a small ocean front town Benicia, CA, we expected 200, our rough count was more than 2,400 before it was over. They were mid age, seniors and gen Z. They blew horns, played tom tom drums, rang bells, marking the beginning of the end of the biggest criminal/conman in our history. Every sign had a message and a personal story of lives being wronged, threatened, and fear of losing our freedom. I reminded everyone that I could greet, remember the coming election. Vote the republican bastards out in city, county, state and federal offices. They are the reason why this garbage heap has climbed to the top of the heap.

I'm in my 9th decade. I didn't march yesterday, but I went to the streetcar stops in our neighborhood and thanked those in costume, carrying signs, or just going towards the march. I also encouraged them to use this opportunity as the first step. Here are some ways:

1) Google "how to help Democrats" (in your state if you want, locally if you want).

2) Tell other people, friends, relatives, neighbors, strangers, what you are doing and ask them to help. Working with others can be very enjoyable.

3) Look at Voteforward.org They enable you to send personalized letters to carefully targeted voters in California urging them to vote. This of course is to counteract the GOP gerrymandering going on. I do this. I handwrite/print a few sentences about why I vote onto a prepared format. In my remarks I always encourage the recipient to vote AND to tell others to vote in the upcoming election. I am a calligrapher and I calligraph my envelopes for better, more personal response.

Do what you can, but just do it and take pride in what you are doing. And look both ways before crossing, eat your veggies, do your exercises, smile at others, and call your mother a little more often.

Yesterday I attended the NO KINGS protest in Griffin, GA. We had a little over 500 people. It was well organized, peaceful, and respectful. our side of the street was reserved for us. Across the street was for the trumpers. Only one fat man waving a meathead (dumpf) flag showed up. He was yelling at us, so we ignored him. Eventually he shut up. People of all ages attended. Nobody paid us to be there. Which maga insinuates. All volunteers. I am ready to do another one. Maybe in time for the midterms. Haven't been in a protest since Vietnam War. Marched in the protest at SIU Carbondale many years ago. I was in high school at the time, May 1970. Skipped school so I could be there.

Thank you, People of America, who believe in the promise of Liberty and Justice for All.

It won’t be easy. Trump knows his time is short. He will stomp his feet, in spite of the bone spurs. He is a spoiled brat who will tip over the Monopoly board if he can’t have Boardwalk. Waaaa!!!

Grow up, Don-Don! Now go to your room and think about what you’ve done!

What struck me about yesterday's protest in Minneapolis was how friendly, creative, and joyous it was, aside from being massive. While I am a (Social Security) card-carrying boomer, there were a lot of people of all ages in the crowd. Would MAGA even be capable of putting on something like that?

Loved those protesters who weren't even in the US--Canada and Paris, France! Beautiful. And right in front in the Paris picture is a poster for Zohran Mamdani! Love that! I'm a New Yorker and I'm going to vote for him.--Lots of things to love in those pictures.

In Honolulu there were an estimated 4-5,000 who turned up in front of the Capitol. It was a peaceful, jovial, hopeful crowd who cheered on and gave millions of shakas to the honkers at the major intersection. We had a Froggy, a Dinosaur, several Chickens (including one rubber one), a Tele Baby and numerous other characters. The only downer was the ruckus made by a handful of Maga trucks roaring down the street. Hard to believe that in the state of Aloha, any Maga still exist.

Love this❣️

We need to go back to the beginning and start over.

Do not allow:

What did I leave out?

Here in Australia there was only one rally ( In Melbourne ) and they faced off against an anti - immigration rally by flag waving nationalists.

The Victorian police immediately started squawking about far Left extremists. Seems there's no left wing anymore - if your not a right wing, white supremacist your a "Far Left Extremist" .

Meanwhile I struggle to understand how a rally in support of Palestinians is anti-semitic hate speech, but white supremacist anti-immigration protest is not racist hate speech.

The working people of this country are getting a good education about getting out there with your neighbors and co-workers and standing up against fascism. I hope this outpouring doesn't just lead people back to the old Democratic party, which put in place so much of the machinery that the MAGA fascists are using. This movement must evolve into an ongoing struggle aimed at getting rid of capitalism, bosses, billionaires and build workers power. Let the working class rule!

Thanks, Michael, for the great pictures!! And for your 2 takeaways: 1) homemade signs, so creative, 2) the diversity of concerns expressed -- yes, we don't want ANY of his selfish, nasty, immoral, illegal, mean comments or actions. As Steve said in his column, "we are BORN with rights in this country," and we won't let this con man, tin pot dictator, take them away.
