Michael, you are one hell of a brave man. Thank you for your dedication to finding and reporting the truth. I so enjoy reading your newsletters. You are humble, brilliant and funny. You make it look so easy and I know itβs not. I mean it took me about 15 minutes just to compose this one crappy paragraph.
ππππππΎππΌππΎππΌ. My distant cousin was a Mother Superior here in Cincinnati, Ohio. She was sooo cool and I adored and loved her to to much. May she Rest in Paradise now.
Thank you for helping me be a more informed 63 yr old woman. I won a sexual harassment case in my 40s to none other than the director of HR where I worked for 20 yrs as an accountant. It was a company full of disgusting white men, professional and sexual harassment every day and unfair pay, that I and a coworker complained about constantly. The stress of that job caused high blood pressure and high anxiety for years. When I resigned in 2015, it was like losing the biggest weight of my life. They even let me draw unemployment for all I'd endured, lol.
But, for all of that I was able to raise 3 kids alone, buy and sell homes, start a 401k, and work a part time job as a janitor for 28 years at an Engineering firm that once fired me as their bookkeeper.. I haven't worked since November of 2019 where I quit my job as a floral manager in Tulsa and relocated to...... Alabama of all God forsaken places, to be near my daughter who married a man from here. He's a pretty good guy with a nice family and I have the most beautiful baby granddaughter. Living in Huntsville is very different than Tulsa. Both are red states, but Tulsa's mayor is a democrat and there are alot of democrats that live there. I miss my other 4 grandkids and my sons. We're all very close despite the distance from Chicago, Washington and Tulsa .
So sorry, didn't mean to send you a life story, but I do want to thank you for the Sunday mail. I guess I could have really got into a writing frenzy about my 3 husbands. Lol
Pam please donβt apologize, I love to read womenβs stories of raising their children by themselves and against all that would seek to prevent it, yet persevere just the same. My mom raised 5 on her own and she didnβt let anything stop her. She too faced the myriad of endless actions taken against women and would be smiling that special smile of hers to read how you fought back and just as importantly WON, congratulations to you! She passed 2 years ago, and reminding myself every single day of her love & strength is literally what enables me to go keep going without her. It will never be easy and I canβt write how terribly I miss her.
Be comfortable that you arenβt working now and enjoy your children & grandchildren.
It can never be argued that you havenβt EARNED it.
I love reading your brief bio of early writing attempts and the censures. Best is, nothing stopped you! We readers/writers must emulate this effort. Your faithful voice has been heard/seen around the world in spite of the enemies of truth. Hooray for YOU!!! Since you have the gift to persist, I congratulate you with these fresh efforts now in these crazy times. Help us to sort it all out and speak on and on of the Truth!!!! THANKS!!!
It gets difficult to not just shut down with all of the negatives thrown at us daily. When I read of your struggles to get the truth out there, I am energized to send more money to plant more trees, donate more and volunteer more. Thanks for being such an inspiration!
Michael, I have followed you for years, read your letters & essays & watched your movies! Thank you for hanging in there for us & for the planet! I am so proud of you!
If only a couple million poor white Republicans would read you, Michael. Your plain-speaking truth would surely resonate. I fear that the human need to "belong" to something is what drives so many to Trump and his cult, fueled in part by anger at being dismissed or reviled, no different from the Taliban, really. And I am proud to "belong" to the hordes of us who have read and watched you and your truth-telling for decades.
How you can come to that conclusion is wildly confusing. Donβt speak out of both sides of your mouth. Please list the people Michael associates with βwho denigrate poor and working class people while claiming to speak for themβ.
Those of us who choose to come here and participate in the discussion and hopeful understanding to change what we know is both wrong and true and NEEDS to be said REALLY want to know.
The list please⦠and trust me the anticipation is palpable.
I hear you Penny. I hope you realize most folx reading Mike's posts are much more likely in the camp who will gladly raise their hands up with you to say "yes, and.." instead of the "no, but..." camp. Yes, your passion is what we need. And we need folks with other passions, too. Together is how we make a difference.
Thank you for being you, and doing what you do. Humor with a knockout punch. I will use this bully pulpit to address what I consider to be the one thing that is the most important to all Americans. Many issues are important to some, but not all. I see those as a distraction from βthe issueβ. We all have a body, which will need care at some point. How we pay for that care at present is insane. We must join the rest of the developed world and adopt some form of single payer health insurance. The Covid pandemic has made it quite clear that employer provided for profit insurance is a form of slavery. Lose your job, sucks for you.
Michael, I love reading and watching your work. My youngest son introduced me to your documentaries several years ago. From the get go, I was hooked and quite interested in what you had to say. My youngest son and I think a lot like you do. Iβm 62 and heβs 26. Itβs fascinating to me that people of all ages are drawn to your work. Iβm glad I subscribed and look forward to reading more of your writing. Thanks for what you do. You are the mouthpiece for many of us. I appreciate it very much! Take care!
I have read and watched and followed you for years. You have always educated me with your gifted research results. Youβre an amazing human. I am so grateful that you have the βvoice,β the pen, the courage and the resilience that you do! Thank God, you had those early lessons in censorship! Whew. Us old Catholic school kids have to cheer each other on! Keep on keeping on dear heart.
Michael! As a bumbling but very sincere activist since age 13 (now 70), your presence, actions (read chutzpah) and writings help uplift, inspire and keep me going in the resistance...in the Good Fight. In it for the long haul. Thank you!

This Mother Superior not only doesnβt condemn you, she commends you! What a great lifetime passion - truth telling! Jesus would be impressed.

A great post for the beginning onslaught. Our weapons of pen and pencil are behind you.

You are the squeaky wheel and I love it. Keep getting under 'their' skin, Michael!

All those reasons why you write-- they're basically the reasons why I read.
For Sure !
