I can't believe how complacent we are in the US.

There should have been a NATIONAL STRIKE!

This is a breaking point! Trump has clearly lost his grip on reality!

Noelle's avatar

At this point

, republicans aren’t complacent, they are complicit.

Uniparty is doing what Uniparty always does, irrespective of which name it chooses to use.

Agreed. To think that at least 334 million US citizens couldn't be bothered to attend No Kings 3.0 - speaks volumes in citizen complacency. We can blame the unethical, gluttonous, compromised politicians but complacent citizens bear a lot of the responsibility.

Cheryl Ramette's avatar

What are you doing right now to stop this?

Michael Naify's avatar

I went out on No Kings day... It was disappointing in Los Angeles. I expected many more people. In Europe when they protest EVERYTHING shuts down. In Brazil where I spend much of the year they know how to protest.

I think we Americans are just lazy!

If you have suggestions I'd love to hear them.

If you want to stop the corruption, you're going to have to show the American people concrete proof that both major political parties have sold them out.

I have that proof. Go to my Substack (The Illusion of Justice) and read the two page introduction letter. It's free and contains everything you need to take your country back--if you can get your fellow citizens to read it.

Americans are weak. We’ve become, or maybe we always were, followers of con men, propaganda, anyone offering easy solutions. We’re adults who never grew up. We wallow in our stupidity, almost proud of it. We don’t read. We don’t analyze. We follow. I see it in my family, in my friends, everywhere. It’s sickening.

I wish I had more ideas but I do think we need to go for having him impeached and/or ousted.

Easy Michael. Remember, our jobs are directly connected to our Healthcare. Other nations don't have that problem. Congress is the body that forced job coupling. Business did not want that, back then. Now, business wants it. Coincidence?

It's a billion dollar revolver,

Purchased by billionaires

Handed to a billionaire madman.

The revolver has five TACOs. And one madman's bullet.

Some'll win, some will lose

Some are born to sing the blues

Whoa, the movie never ends

It goes on and on and on and on

Strangers waitin'

Up and down the boulevard

Their shadows searchin' in the night

Streetlights, people

Livin' just to find emotion

Hidin', somewhere in the night

Don't

Stop,,,

I wrote to my representative today and I’ve been going to the No Kings rally’s in my town, but I honestly cannot even find the words - don’t think the words exist - to describe the raw brutishness of this administration. The bankers have armed chihuahua’s with powerful weapons aimed at all of us in America and around the world. They are not “just” killing people. They are destroying the planet. They are truly insane.

ShirleyT's avatar

Thank u 4 attending. It is our only tool. I have 7 progressive members in my small family & only 1 attended No Kings 3.0. It has caused a huge riff. They couldn't be bothered!!!!! I am heart 💔

We’ve had great participation in the Lehigh Valley, PA.

Dear Michael Moore, we need your voice more than ever. The latest utterance of insanity from Orange Menace was - Jews should vote republican. It occurred to me, and now confirmed by your film, that this would be voting for their demise; project 2025 calls a “white Christian nation”. Likewise, those of us who are disabled will simply have no health care and…buh byee! We are not in denial. Yes, the whole grifting government needs burned down….

The Everglades Auschwitz type concentration camps are still being built.

First, they came for the immigrants...

Untergropenfuhrer Trumpolini must go, or all must have the MAGA of the Beast on their foreheads,

Lost my post…yes! They are big private business. And they are for the unwanted, as many of us are. Those things aren’t just for immigration, baybee!

Thanks for this…

And if one more Democrat asks me for money, I’m going to scream. They are totally clueless.

Melinda Nestlerode's avatar

Yes! I get so many email and text requests for donations to Democratic races that I barely look at my phone now. I get it - more Democrats in Congress will stymie Trumps unchecked irresponsible rampages. But, I'm so disappointed with the lack of push-back from the existing Congressional Democrats that I'm hesitant to keep funnelling money to them.

Diana Frank's avatar

It seems that that is all they want. They are not organizing. They are not presenting an alternative.

Janet Jones Bann's avatar

Yes. And it's good to hear from you. I've been worried if you're ok.

Gary Hanks's avatar

100% Michael. Thank goodness that Trump just TACO'd for two weeks. Now we the people must pressure ALL of our leaders to get rid of this idiot.

Kate Feldman's avatar

Thank you Michael. I am many like me are screaming at our representatives to do just this. I only wish there were more of us screaming.

Thank you for being the voice of responsibility!

If you needed some motivation to get politically active, this should be it. Enough doom scrolling, enough theorizing, enough psychoanalyzing. If you want to actually do something, Google “how to help the Democrats win the midterms.” You will find lots of options. Choose something that suits you, that you can commit to for the next seven months.

The following organizations can help you direct your efforts to best effect: Voteforward.org,, Swingleft.org, Movementvote.org, and Postcardstovoters. Org

Please sign up for active political duty. Tell your people what you’re doing and ask them to help. Post action items on Reddit, Facebook, etc.

People want and need specific things that they can do, like volunteering to be a poll watcher or poll worker. Our nation is in a grave crisis. This is what to do. Now. Really. Please help.

Thank you Mike. I was beginning to think I was pissing my five bucks a month into the wind. We need your voice and written word now more than ever. Hope you are well. Jim

I understand your comment. But a lot of us were just worried as to whether or not Michael was OK.

Yes, I was as well. And still am.

Vote every Republican out of power in the next election. They are the brick and mortar behind this evil force.

Presently working on a 40-voice choral piece by Tallis written hundreds of years ago.

Can't do it alone, obviously, but the idea of all of us being held hostage by a lunatic while beauty and art struggle to survive seems like the cruelest irony.

Also, I'm plagued by some kind of creatures in my domicile that want to suck my blood.

That's just rude.

The time to act is now. Find and join a nearby chapter of a group such as Indivisible https://indivisible.org/ and become a pro-democracy activist. Work toward bringing the 3.5% rule within our reach: https://www.bbc.com/future/article/20190513-it-only-takes-35-of-people-to-change-the-world . It may be our best/last hope of setting things right.
