Incredibly powerful words. I wish everyone in this country would read them and heed them, as my grandmother used to say. Thank you!

Amen Mike at age 90 I've seen too many take aways and it really hurts to see how the GOP has screwed my grandkids future for the past 50 years. What really hurts is how NAFTA was supported by the Clinton's who sold out labor. Now we have two more jackals wanting to stop the only chance we have recover some of what we've lost. It's something these young people need if this country will ever be great. We'll never be a world leader unless the middle class is much stronger than it is today.

Time to reverse Federal spending formulas:

$7 Trillion for BBB/infrastructure; $1 Trillion for defense...

The message seems to be -

'We may not always have food but rest assured, we'll always have war.'

Re: the cost of prescription meds: I get a Prolia shot every 6 months for bone density loss. My last one--for one shot, mind you--cost $2,220.00! My insurance paid most of it but I still owe over $600.00--which I can't really afford to pay! : ( --Retired Letter Carrier

Thank you for clearing up the spurious stats on Biden's approval ratings

Right on brother!! And also, the governor of Mississippi said this morning on Meet the Press that in light of new state laws restricting abortion, that the Supreme Court can and should review past rulings. This is wonderful to hear, especially from the mouth of an anti-abortion Republican, because the next ruling that is just SCREAMING to be overturned is Citizen's United. That would fix so much that has gone off the rails in our great country.

The problem with Biden's approval rating is the People think he should be doing more, hence low approval rating, the party thinks he should be doing less, hence poor rating, I am so angry at the party.

Plain-speaking good sense. Thank you Mr Moore. I join with you in hoping enough Americans will stand up and act now while it will make a difference.

Thank you for a excellent summation! I’m so exhausted from , talky , talky with people and I have not had the correct polls to read the situation. Iv been preoccupied with the mental health 988 crisis line and things of that sort for Norther n, Northeast MiI agree . I’m not an economist or historian, politician , none of that, however, Iv lived and learned. What you have explained quite simply is our situation as a nation. And, yes, it’s the great resignation and well, haha…it’s a miracle that we’ve all had time to take stock of what is important to us, practically and spiritually. This bill needs to be passed.

Good union jobs from these federal contracts , correct? Yep, corruption, yep , however we need roads and bridges and families earning good wages with benefits

Gifting corporations monies to design eco friendly products, cars, charging stations, recycling stations , clean energy research and implementation, again, it’s what we need to do and remain aware of, but micro aware?

Evidently, because atrocities like lead pipes and poisoning people in poor communities is still acceptable when no one is looking. Just like injustice, oppression , stigmatization is acceptable sometimes when people are looking.

There is the division. It’s a spiritual problem , yep, that has real practical solutions, but only god saves souls.

So, yea, pass the bill

A question, a reaction, and a suggestion:

Question: Are the pundits stupid, or lazy, or bought-and-paid-for?

Reaction: Yes yes yes to a $20/hour minimum. Everywhere.

Suggestion: Can we put 30 for 40 back on the table? Along with $20 and M4A it would be transforming. Wipe out unemployment once and for all, and restore the family in the USA.

What a great and useful letter. If only the average Democratic congressperson made such clear points when they send out their begging emails (a couple do a good job with this; AOC is a star with sending useful email but most--I seem to get on a lot of lists--don't), or still used the franking privilege and send out official mail in favor of the agenda (does that still exist? why don't they use it?).

You inspired me to write my first "Letter to the Editor" a couple of weeks ago, and it got published in our West Hawaii Today Newspaper! I'll paste it here as well -- since my suggestion on how to affordably provide clean drinking water to every household on the planet WITHOUT replacing old pipes is right in line with your sentiment. Let's get creative about how to move forward sustainably!

Lavish Sustainability At 1% of the Cost of Outdated Technology. We need $2 billion to tackle “wastewater issues” on Big Island. Maintenance needed at our wastewater plants will cost about $1 billion, and we need another $1 billion for cesspool conversion. Since 90% of us have cesspools, I have a better idea.

If we installed an Electrosan for every toilet in every (90,000) household on this island, we would spend about $1.35 million. In less than 1 minute, an Electrosan processes and kills any harmful bacteria or viruses that might contaminate groundwater or the ocean. That would eliminate the need for cesspool conversion -- a savings of almost $1 billion. Septic is NOT the answer for our future – anyone from Puako can tell you that!

I still would not want to drink water that came out of an Elecrosan, so let’s provide every household with an atmospheric water generator (AWG) that creates pure drinking water out of thin air. That creates 20-200 gallons a day per household with a total cost of $1.7 million. The added bonus is the cool air it provides.

They both require additional electricity, so let's install $30,000 of solar panels on every residence.

Altogether, we need $30 million to make every household’s cesspool safe, provide clean drinking water, and 100% solar for each residence. That’s the exact amount that Puna was recently granted to reinstate their old water system.

Imagine how much our island would save in maintenance of water pipes, sewage pipes and electrical lines or how much safer we would be after a natural disaster.

Huge spending on centralized infrastructure is not the answer. Future sustainability suggests we go off the grid without giving up our luxuries. The latest technology makes this possible.

Let’s invest $30 million in lavish sustainability and save ourselves almost $2 billion.
