Michael Moore proved to be the rare political player who saw through the Republican flood of disinformation re the supposed certainty of a Red Wave. But more important, he gave millions of progressives HOPE. It is highly possible that it was his pre-election vision proved critical in motivating thousands of voters who might, otherwise, stayed home. The nation owed Michael a giant debt of gratitude.

One Thousand Thanks for your 40 essays on why the Blue Tsunami was coming. They were the reason I was able to sleep at night. That and the fact that the trump republicans pissed off women, vets, people on Social Security and Medicare, folks against mass shootings, people who have school age children, people who support Ukraine, people who believe Climate Change is real, people against police brutality, people against racism and anti-Semitism…did I leave anyone out? My neighbor was Debbie Downer for weeks leading up to the election, sending me NYT articles about the coming blood bath. I sent her your essays. Feel better, Mike.

Hey Mike, I really appreciate your posts and podcasting, my source of sanity. I must admit after these midterms I’m really feeling frustrated with media (NYT, WASHINGTON Post and even NPR) whose reporting read more like opinion with headlines basically declaring a red wave. Where was the critical thinking? Where were the questions and discussion about the unreliability of polls? What’s also frustrating is the lack of acknowledgment or accountability for this failure.

So the house has been called for the republicans by nbc right now. In our state the maps drawn by the republicans took away 4 seats that would have made a big difference, this is in New York. Democrats took this to court and lost which is why now my own district has a republican representing us in January. He will surely be hearing from me as he is already starting to talk about investigations that they will start. New York has some soul searching to do and we have to make sure the right is stopped from growing like the cancer that it is. Let’s hope it is a very, very slim majority.

This team defeated Donald Trump just over two years ago. It wasn’t a fluke. Trump pitted neighbors against neighbors. He rigged the economy for the rich. He left behind a mess. But a dedicated base of millions of grassroots supporters just like you came together to donate, volunteer, and vote in record numbers, and together, we defeated him.

This year, you buckled down and got back to work to beat Trumpism at the ballot box. Just one week ago, you proved that together, we can defeat the extremism, divisiveness, and corruption that he and his party represent. Thanks to you, we protected the Senate and lost fewer seats in the House this year than in any Democratic president’s first elected midterm in the last 40 years.

Keep the faith -- and remember to spread it. 😎

I seem to recall you predicted a blue wave. Was I misinformed? The pundits said Dems would loose the House, they did and they had a chance of keeping the Senate, they did. I think on some local races and Gubernatorial races did unexpectedly go with the Dems. I never believed there was going to be a red wave or a blue wave. This country was and is divided right down the middle.

Pundits, Schmundits. Let's hold on just a dang minute.

California is not done counting the votes, and won't be until Thanksgiving at the earliest. Our counts take a long time because we make it easy for people to vote.

The runoff in Georgia takes place December 6th, and that will determine whether Dems take the House. I, for one, am phone banking like a banshee to get out the vote. Based on previous phone banking with Georgia voters, it's just a matter of getting the majority out to vote for Warnock to win, which means we hold the Senate majority.

If you would like to volunteer with Fair Fight Action for the runoff, sign up here: Use this link to sign up: https://mobilize.us/s/gaa7I3

Or donate to Warnock's Campaign: https://warnockforgeorgia.com/contribute/

We can make a difference!

For a midterm election, this WAS a Blue Wave, though Blue Wall is a more accurate description. This country is NOT divided in half. It is divided in thirds — Democrats, Republicans, and Independents. The Independents — perhaps you have heard the term “swing voters” before? — determine the outcome of national elections. And, contrary to the pundits and the historical trends, a huge number of independents (AND moderate Republicans) voted for the democrats in the state and national elections when their choice was between a MAGA extremist and a Democrat. Which is why the Democrats pushed to get the extremists onto the ballot in the most important races. And did it worked! AG’s, governors, state and national house and senate reps — the MAGAts went down in flames. MM predicted this, and very few MSM pundits did. The majority of voters in this country displayed an unprecedented level of sophistication and wisdom. They voted for democracy over their wallets and despite the drum beat of right wing propaganda and left wing doom and gloom. And it is a BIG deal.

Michael,

Just another day in your life of telling it like it is. You were a model of restraint and kindness; yuh coulda gloated, or preened, or been holier-than-them. But doing so would have reduced you to THEIR level, and that's below Dante's ninth circle. So we will keep on keepin' on.

A digression, if I may: You flunk Newspaper Geography 101; The Guardian, the world's must trusted paper, is based in Manchester.

I’m so happy the Dems did so well- but I have to admit I’m disappointed about the House. McCarthy will pander to the nut bags in the House. I know they really won’t get anywhere, but they’ll make so much trouble, and obstruct everything. I don’t mean to be a naysayer, at least we live to fight another day! Is this finally the beginning of the end regarding the Orange Sociopath? I sure hope so.
