To date, here’s where we are at…
We have gone from “Oh No! Trump’s Going To Win!” on June 27th to today’s mantra of “Here’s How We Crush Trump — and Enjoy Doing It!” We quickly passed through these three stages of “Holy Sh*%! Don’t Scare Me Like That Again!”:
After a sad night of elder abuse, we all collectively convinced President Biden (with a little help from George Clooney and Nancy Pelosi) to step aside and hand the campaign over to the person he picked four years ago to be our first woman President;
We then joined with a chorus of progressive voices (teachers, unions, Jewish Voice for Peace) in rejecting the V.P. choice of pundits and lobbyists, and instead asked Harris to pick a teacher and Midwestern Governor who signed the first statewide legal abortion bill after the Supreme Court reduced women (again) to second-class citizens;
Within days, Harris led Trump in most polls. Record numbers of volunteers hit the streets, hundreds of millions of dollars in small donations were raised, the campaign held Zoom calls with hundreds of thousands of participants, a depressed Trump nearly ceased campaigning and begged Biden to return to the race — while JD Vance daily offended women, cat owners, National Guard members, more women, children, immigrants, Appalachia, Ohio State haters, women, humans. What did we do to deserve this — one gift after another!!!
Then we began our 2024 ELECTION VICTORY TOOLKIT. An occasional Substack email to all of you from me of simple things — tools — that each of us can use and share over these next 80 days to make this historic election happen.

Get your head straight: WE are the majority! WE are going to win. Trump is OVER.

Stop by your local Harris/Dem storefront or HQ and say “Put me to work!” The feedback I’ve received has told me scores of you have already done this. And because the campaign is only a couple weeks old, my thanks to those of you who showed up to find locked doors or no staff. Patience is the key at the beginning. And thanks for keeping two things in mind I’ve always told you: 1) The Democratic Party is not the most organized army on the planet. Think Duck Soup. Democrats are also beset with always expecting to lose and being frightened by conservatives. Getting used to this pandemonium of euphoria can be a little confusing. Which leads me to… 2) Never wait around for the Dems to do something! Just do it yourselves! Appoint yourselves as the campaign! You can do this! You were on Student Council! You were in the Brownies! You ran everything from 1st to 9th grade until the boys got taller, their voices louder, their brains stupider. Reach back into your 7th grade self!

The Democratic National Convention in Chicago starts on Monday. Kamala Harris needs to hear from us NOW: The U.S. must stop arming Israel’s slaughter of the Palestinian people. Every day that passes, more and more innocent people die. We must let her know where we stand. Not tomorrow. Not after the election. Not after she is sworn in. But right now. This is our only moment to affect what may become her permanent policy. The majority of Americans want a CEASEFIRE IMMEDIATELY. The killing must stop. So must the enforced starvation.

I know this may feel hopeless. Firing off messages into a void. Who will ever hear your voice? Who will read your message? It's just a generic email, right? I can tell you. I read all my emails at Mike@MichaelMoore.com. I can't respond to all of them, but I read them. And someone on Kamala Harris's team reads all of your messages. I’m guessing the woman who dissed Bibi Netanyahu by not showing up to his Congressional tirade where he channeled Pope Urban II’s mad rant from 1095 AD calling upon all Christians to invade the Holy Land in the First Crusade and kill all Muslims (Harris chose instead to attend a sorority meeting in Indianapolis. Burn.) — I’m guessing she actually does want to hear from you.

Here’s the truth about the American people: We are a liberal nation. We believe in a Woman’s right to control her own body, we believe in unions and LGBTQIA+ rights, we believe in gun control and student debt relief — up and down the board, no matter what the media and the pundits try to tell us, we are a Liberal Nation and we are the Majority. I sent you a poster outlining this last week. For those of you heading to Chicago this week, I’ve reformatted the poster and its factual backup into a 2-page PDF document you can print double-sided. Feel free to print as many copies as you want (download link below) and share them with everyone you meet. Hand them out on street corners along the march routes or on the L or along the Magnificent Mile. If you’re not able to make it to Chicago, print them up anyway! #3. HAVE CAR, WILL TRAVEL? GO TO THE DNC IN CHICAGO AND PROTEST!
If you live anywhere in the Midwest from Green Bay to Indianapolis to Detroit to Toledo, you already know that you are but a 4-hour drive from the capital of the Midwest, Chicago, Illinois. This means that millions of you have in-person access to this week’s history-making Democratic National Convention. It also means you can join with thousands of others in a very important demonstration to demand an end to the war on Gaza.

This march is organized by a coalition of over 200 groups including the U.S. Palestinian Community Network, Arab American Action Network, Black Lives Matter Chicago, American Friends Service Committee (Quakers), Starbucks Workers United Illinois, Democratic Socialists of America, CODEPINK, International Answer, and Jewish Voice for Peace Chicago.
When: There are two permitted rallies. One on the opening day and the other on Thursday, before Harris accepts the nomination.

Where: Both events start at Union Park, 1501 W. Randolph St. [Map]
The current permit is for a 1 mile loop, beginning and ending at Union Park. The park is approximately half a mile from the convention location (The United Center). March organizers are trying to extend the permit to cover a two mile path.
The area directly around the United Center is a “high security zone.” The permitted march path does not cross into this area.

Don’t Have a Car?: There may be buses leaving from your city and heading to Chicago. Check with your local progressive and activist groups, especially in Minneapolis, Detroit, Milwaukee and Madison, and New York City.

On Sunday, August 18th, the day BEFORE the convention begins — a coalition of Reproductive Rights and LGBTQIA+ groups have secured a permit for a march along Michigan Avenue.
This march begins at 5pm this Sunday at the corner of Michigan Ave and Wacker Drive, at the Chicago River. The route heads south to Grant Park.
This coalition includes groups like Chicago for Abortion Rights, Stop Trans Genocide, Poor Peoples Army, If Not Now Chicago, Chicago Area Peace Action and Jewish Voice for Peace Chicago.
According to the ACLU, which represented the group in the permit process:
The group is demanding that national Democrats take federal action through legislation to protect bodily autonomy across the United States and is joining calls for an immediate ceasefire in Gaza.
We have just 80 days left until the polls close. Let’s keep that foot on the gas. Let's take nothing for granted. (Why win by an inch when we could win in a landslide!) And on November 5th, let’s make history, and elect Kamala Harris as the 47th President of the United States.

There is debate and disagreement, but it is refreshing to have it done with respect and civility, unfettered by the stench of bigotry and Q-anon insanity.
Michael, please do not encourage protests in Chicago. I remember how things went south back in 1968, Nixon won and we did not get out of Viet Nam until 1975.
Good advice Mike. Here's hoping the Dems not only win the presidency, but increase their majority in the Senate and get a good majority in the House. If they have enough votes in both houses could they not impeach, convict and remove Judge Thomas? That would send a message to the other two right -wingers on the bench. Too you and all your followers: remember not only your fate but also that of your neighbours to the North will be decided this November 5th.
