Ten days ago I was traveling through Logan Airport while being pushed towards the plane by the wheelchair assistant. As we were waiting in the holding room, I looked up into her open, intelligent, brown face and began to chat. She was a naturalized immigrant from an African country. I said: " Are you excited?", totally assuming that she would be voting for Kamala Harris whom she looked like. Her face scrounged up and I immediately read that she was voting for Trump. With obvious surprise I asked her why. She said she wanted to start her own business and he was a good business man. I spontaneously said, but he has gone bankrupt so many times. She clearly did not know. I then told her about Heather Cox Richardson's letter from an American. (I could have told her about you, Mike, but I was in it to do some education here.) She immediately pulled out her phone and googled Heather. I saw she had found it. I urged her to read these writings from a History professor. She promised she would. I continued to tell her about myself and how I came to the US in 1971 with $10.- in my pocket, became a business woman and became well-off. We continued talking about the importance of getting a good education and that she would be getting more help for that and for starting up a business from a Democratic administration than a Republican and especially from Kamala Harris. She promised to study it all, continue her education and inform herself. We fist bumped and said goodbye warmly. I like to think that I changed a vote. I must say that I try to avoid bringing up politics to strangers, but this experience gave me courage to do more. I had another conversation with a friend of mine who was going to sit it out. I am not sure if I convinced her.

I have run into this often from low information voters who believe that Trump is a great businessman based on his performance on "The Apprentice" tv show. When I mention all the bankruptcies and the numerous times he stiffed contractors, they look at me like I'm nuts.

Expand full comment

The question is why did you assume she was voting for Kamala? Racial bias?

Expand full comment

Gender bias and maybe a little racial bias. I was just struck by this smart beautiful young woman who wanted to start her own business after having immigrated to the US just like I did 50 years ago. And I imagined that she'd be excited about a woman president.

I get it. I’m glad you’re honest. The left claims men and women are no different and mandates inclusive language EXCEPT for their candidate. I find it hysterical that no one has referred to Kamala as a cisgender birthing person who was assigned vagina at birth. Did you know that liberals have passed legislation that allows violent, male sex offenders in female prisons? Kamala was bragging about how she helped change this law in a video. It’s a UN human rights violation.

Dear Michael and everyone else reading this message: I have more than 3 voting “buddies.” I don’t know them well, but I have connected with them by sending them a postcard, calling them during a phonebank, or briefly meeting them while canvassing. And I continue to make more voting “buddies” as I continue to phonebank and canvass. You can, too. See below.

UPDATED OPTIONS FOR YOU TO HELP SWING STATES ELECT HARRIS

Hello. I live in Arizona. There are many organizations that are working hard to help Arizona and other swing states get Harris elected. Please help, no matter where in the world you live.

If you would like to work with a non-profit or other groups that want to elect Harris and are not funded by the Democratic Party, I created the list below and sent it out to friends and family all over the country. I hope this list is helpful to you as well. LAST WEEK I UPDATED IT BASED ON THOSE GROUPS I KNOW CONTINUE TO BE ACTIVE AND NEED VOLUNTEERS. I welcome you to copy and share this list with others. I am going to post this list each time Michael sends out one of his missives. Thank you.

PHONEBANKING and DONATIONS are the primary options, with some POSTCARDING, LETTERWRITING, and TEXTING also possible. PHONEBANKING is done without revealing your phone number. I do not know how that works with Texting.

Experts who study these things have seen that such simple actions as personal postcards, phone calls, or texts to specifically identified voters can and do make a difference. The organizations below are either the experts or are groups that partner with the experts. Some of these organizations promote who to vote for, while others just encourage infrequent voters to vote, knowing that the people they contact typically vote Democratic. All of these groups can benefit from your time and/or your donations (some of which can be tax-deductible).

PHONEBANKING and CANVASSING: The ENVIRONMENTAL VOTER PROJECT identifies millions of non-voting environmentalists and turns them into consistent voters. I have done canvassing and phonebanks with them. https://www.environmentalvoter.org/

PHONEBANKING, TEXTING, and POSTCARDING: THIRD ACT primarily recruits Seniors as volunteers, but all are welcome. https://thirdact.org/

The ice jam has broken!

An already American hero, Four Star U.S. Marine General John Kelly has done what Marines do in battle, he has taken the point. He has taken the point in the battle for our democracy. This gallant Marine, who in his guts wants to keep the military apolitical recognizes the clear and present danger of a fascist authoritarian and he has stepped into the breach to do what he has always done, protect America. His courage and leadership already resulted in troops leaving the foxhole and moving forward. Republican politicians around the country are now stepping out for Harris and democracy. I genuinely believe General Kelly’s pronouncements in his recorded voice is the catalyst.

There is another hero in this story, NYT reporter Michael Schmidt, in his tenacity got General Kelly to agree to use his recorded voice because it is multiple times more effective than the printed word. His doggedness as a journalist is deserving of a Pulitzer. It is that important of a story.

General Kelly served his country with distinction for many decades, lost his own Marine Corps son in combat in Afghanistan, and was Donald Trump’s longest serving Chief of Staff. If anyone can be trusted and believed, it is General Kelly.

General Kelly’s 911 call to America is that Donald Trump fits all the definitions of a FASCIST, presents a grave threat to our democracy and is unfit to serve as President of the United States.

Just 3 days ago on Truth Social News, I watched Trump say, while talking to one of his supporters, that if he is president again, he will be dictator on day one.

And the First thing he will do is to order the military to go after and arrest all of his political opponent's including reporters.

He then said that he will also shut down TV news agencies like 60 minutes because their questions bothered him.

The military will not do that, the old bawbag would have to enact some kind of Emergency measures first. Of course he could use anything as a pretext - Union walkout/protest, any peaceful protest (take note protesters for Palestine, he'll 'stitch you up'), whatever is convenient. I think he'd do it too. Absolutely.

October 26, 2024

Dear Mr. Moore:

We have been trying to reach the Harris/Walz campaign staff for three weeks, but apparently without being heard. Would you please have a few moments to look over our ideas, many of which could improve their campaign effectiveness before it is too late. We note that you have already very eloquently addressed the War in Gaza in your letter to Vice President Harris on October 16. We hope that you might be able to assist them further with their campaign messaging and optics, by considering and passing on some of our ideas. This election is far too important to leave anything unsaid or unexplained:

1. POWERS OF THE VICE PRESIDENT -- Many voters are ignorant of basic facts about the way our government works. VP Harris should emphasize that the position of Vice President does NOT confer the authority to make policy decisions. These are made by the President. Her campaign should draw a clear distinction between some of the decisions made by the Biden Administration, and how she will handle these situations differently.

2. INFLATION AND INTEREST RATES -- Millions of voters blame the Biden Administration for price and interest rate hikes. VP Harris should explain that the President does NOT have the authority to control prices nor interest rates. Prices are set by businesses and interest rates are set independently by the Federal Reserve Board.

3. IMMIGRATION -- VP Harris was NOT assigned to be an “immigration czar,” but only with trying to stem the flow of migrants by offering aid to the countries from which they were fleeing. VP Harris should explain in detail how her Administration will deal with cities overrun with migrants, how it will deal with criminals and undocumented aliens, and how our borders can be adequately managed and secured, assuring the American people that a new Democratic Administration will enforce new immigration reform measures immediately upon passage by Congress. The vast majority of migrants are decent hard-working people trying to escape violence and poverty in their home countries.

4. EXPOSE PROJECT 2025 -- Democrats must expose what this dangerous blueprint for a second Trump presidency contains. Most Trump voters are unaware of the details. A 48-page synopsis of this 900+ page document, called "The People's Guide to Project 2025," is at  democracyforward.org

5. THE WAR IN UKRAINE -- We are the leader of "The Free World." Our support of NATO nations and our aid in the defense of Ukraine are crucial to our own security, as well as those of other democratic nations.

6. GAZA -- The Biden Administration should rush humanitarian aid to the Palestinians, and build a coalition of countries to pay for rebuilding the Gaza Strip, while continuing to press hard for a workable cease-fire, for the return of all hostages, and for a two-State solution to ensure the safety and sovereignty of both Israelis and Palestinians. VP Harris will continue this work.

7. THE U.S. SUPREME COURT -- President Biden should consider using his new powers as President to expand the U.S. Supreme Court from 9 to 13 Justices, and he should immediately appoint 4 new Justices to deny election and other appeals from Trump. Our current Senate majority can immediately confirm these new Justices.

8. GUN SAFETY -- Mass shootings must not continue to be a "fact of life" in America. Democrats must pass reasonable gun safety legislation to include universal background checks; the denial of gun purchase and possession by minors and those with felony convictions, mental issues, and protection orders; and banning of the sale of assault weapons and “ghost” guns. The Harris-Walz campaign must emphasize that Democrats are not "coming to take the guns" of legal and responsible gun owners.

9. AFFORDABLE HOUSING --There is a serious shortage of affordable housing and homelessness in America. Rent control and investment laws are needed to stop abuses. The Harris Administration should consider re-purposing/renovating existing vacant buildings.

10. ADDRESSING THE AMERICAN PEOPLE -- Kamala Harris should consider giving frequent addresses to the nation explaining her Administration's policies, similar to FDR's "Fireside Chats" and Bill Clinton's "Weekly Radio Addresses" on C-SPAN.

Absolutely vote on November 5th. But we really need fundamental changes in our whole system.

There are two main problems with our political system but it is not Republicans or Democrats, conservatives or liberals. The first one is 535 people in DC decide for the 250 million in the electorate whether or not to open or close the border, whether or not you can have a gun, whether or not you can drive down the street and get an abortion, and last but not least what you will pay taxes for and how much.

This is a gross concentration of power that is totally unnecessary in the 21st. Century. The reason we have the Republic form of government (no is it NOT a democracy) is because in 1776 it took six weeks one way for a boat to go from NY to London and your chances were probably less than 50/50 you and the boat would make it. Or to put it another way, the Founding Fathers did not have cell phones.

I turned on the end of "America's Got Talent" last night. On that show and others, you can "vote" by calling in who you think is the best entertainer/performer. There is no technological reason we cannot have a national system where you and anyone else who wants to volunteer (this is very important. We need to get money completely out of politics) can get on their phone and vote in real time on whether or not to open or close the border, whether or not you can have a gun, whether or not you can drive down the street and get an abortion, and last but not least what you will pay taxes for and how much. And all kinds of other things that need to be voted on.

This what the Lord Initiative No. 2 on website below is about. It my sound totally impossible but it is not. All that has to happen is you and the other 250 million get on the phone, get on the e-mail, or get on Twitter and tell one or two or three of the 535 who represent you by doing something that...

...only takes a few minutes and best of all..doesn't cost any money.

We don't need money in politics. We just need people to participate.

Mike, People, Kamala is GOING to win the popular vote on Nov 5, and it WILL be an old fashion shelacking, thanks to Mike and all those working so hard to get out the vote. But, Trump has never

won the popular vote and as he has said: he doesn't need the vote.

The question is: What will Mike Johnson declare when there is so much chaos with the vote: accusations, law suits, states that won't send in their votes. Mike Johnson will declare a state of voting emergency and ask the House of Reps to select the winner (as required by the constitution).

What will us Democrats do:

We won't storm the Congress, because we believe in the rule of law. We will let the law take it's course. Law suits will be taken to the Supreme Court for adjudication and thank you very much. we just gave the country away.

Alternative? If we play fair - we lose. It is still possible for Joe to grow some Kahunas, We elected him

to defend the constitution from enemies foreign and domestic. On Jan 4 he can declare a state of emergency, have the D.C. police round up 6 or 8 congrespersons, including Johnson, suspected of sedition and lock them up in isolation (for their protection). Then have Jefferies call the house to order, take a vote and make Kamala President. Joe can not be criminally prosecuted for any act as

president. I don't think we would hear a peep from the far right. Just like none of them showed up when Trump was convicted of 34 felonies. We will have to fight these treasonist fascists some day - it would be much better to fight them NOW when we have the power.

Biden is President. I don't imagine he'll walk out the door until it's all settled. If he did, that would only invite foreign enemies of the US to take advantage.

Don't forget, the President is also the Commander in Chief. He won't go anywhere for as long as it takes.

My fellow Americans,

The definition of insanity is to keep doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results. By this definition, if you vote for the Republicans and Democrats and expect them to actually honor their oath to support and defend the Constitution of the United States--you are insane.

Tonight on Scripts news at 7:00 PM Central time there is a third party debate. I don't know if these guys are honest, but I know for a fact that the Republican and Democratic parties are irretrievably corrupt. If you would like to see proof of their duopoly corruption--I suggest that you read my book. (There is a link for a free digital copy in this post.)

My name is Ted Martin. I have finished writing a book about my first hand encounters with a morbidly corrupt federal judicial system. The book is titled: The Illusion of Justice and contains documented, incontrovertible proof of widespread systemic corruption in the District Court for the Northern District of Illinois, the Seventh Circuit Court of Appeals, the United States Supreme Court, the Administrative Office of United States Courts, the Senate Judiciary Committee, and the U.S. Department of Justice.

The Supreme Court not only ignored two of the most egregious cases of judicial misconduct imaginable (my cases) but also an amicus brief by former Seventh Circuit Court of Appeals Judge Richard Posner in which he blows the whistle on rampant corruption in the Seventh Circuit Court of Appeals.

Judge Posner’s amicus brief is posted on the Supreme Court’s website at www.supremecourt.gov and can be accessed by typing in the following case number: Martin v. Living Essentials (Case No. 17-8352)

It will be painfully obvious to anyone who reads my book (or Judges Posner’s amicus brief) that the Supreme Court denies certiorari without even bothering to read the petitions submitted by the citizens of the United States. This obscene betrayal of the public trust is a clear-cut violation of every Justice’s judicial oath and a crime under federal law that is commonly referred to as honest services fraud.

In short, my book proves that the leaders of both the Republican and Democratic parties have been conspiring together to pack the courts with corrupt corporate judges who will never side with the American people. This was abundantly clear when Senator Chuck Schumer and the other Democrats on the Senate Judiciary Committee repeatedly refused to use irrefutable evidence of judicial misconduct by Amy Coney Barrett (a Republican nominee) at her Supreme Court confirmation hearing.

This bipartisan band of seditious conspirators also refused to address the underlying corruption in clear violation of their oath to “support and defend the Constitution of the United States against all enemies, foreign and domestic.”

The only difference between the two major political parties is the rhetoric. The special interest groups running this country don’t give a damn which bribe taking stooge you vote for or even if you vote at all. They have already successfully rigged every election by controlling “our” choices.

The leaders of both the Republican and Democratic parties have been caught red-handed conspiring to pack the courts with corrupt judges who will never side with you. If there was ever a reason to be a one issue voter, this is it. Besides, any politician caught lying about their fidelity to the Constitution and laws of the United States is obviously lying about everything—particularly their agenda.

Republicans push the corrupt corporate agenda. Democrats pretend to be opposed. Together, they sell their offices to the highest bidders. They foment war for the military industrial complex, promote racism for the prison industrial complex, refuse to restrict access to assault weapons for the gun manufactures, permit large quantities of toxic cancer causing chemicals to be dumped into our air, land, and water for the chemical manufactures, deny needed medical care to our country’s citizens for the health insurance and pharmaceutical industries, and turn a willful blind eye to the catastrophic effects of global warming for the fossil fuel industries. The list of their greed fueled crimes against humanity goes on and on.

Voting your current elected representatives out of office should be a no brainer. But, to make sure that they are not replaced with another batch of equally corrupt corporate stooges, we’re also going to have to take back both the Republican and Democratic parties and get the money out of politics.

While this may appear to be a daunting task, all we really need is a sound plan. After giving this matter some careful consideration, I have the following proposal: We agree to put aside all of our ideological differences and unite as Americans in support of the Constitution of the United States.

If you read my book, it really won’t be that difficult. You will know who the real enemy is and it certainly isn’t your fellow citizens. We just need to become one issue voters. Ignore their contrived wedge issues, bullshit talking points, and cringe worthy campaign ads. If they are not fighting tooth and nail to get the money out of politics—don’t legitimize them with your vote.

Seriously, if in doubt—throw them out. Besides, any government official who is not forcefully calling for the resignations of the corrupt leaders of their own political party is, by definition, violating their oath to “support and defend the Constitution of the United States against all enemies, foreign and domestic.”

Whether Republican or Democrat, a treasonous corporate criminal is a treasonous corporate criminal, they serve the same master and nothing is going to change until we get the money out of politics.

*You get the money out of politics by publicly funding elections, banning all campaign contributions, and, in exchange for their broadcasting/operating licenses, requiring news organizations to give every candidate for public office an equal amount of free advertising space.

In the future, I may write a book titled: The Illusion of Journalism. But for now, I’m just going to say that the media is not going to help anyone blow the whistle on their partners in crime. In the past four years, I couldn’t find a single news organization that hadn’t sold us out.

All an honest journalist would have to do is read Judge Posner’s amicus brief to know that the courts are irretrievably corrupt. Reading my book will conclusively show that the courts are corrupt by design.

If you want a government that actually acts in your best interests, I urge you and everyone you know to read my book as soon as possible. You can get a digital copy of my book free of charge at the link below: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1_vaMH1riLodzOfQn0kI7ow0RDrPM0NqE/view?usp=sharing

P.S. I blame the Federalist Society for the corruption in the federal judicial system. The six so-called conservative justices on the Supreme Court, Mitch McConnell, and all the Republican Senators on the Senate Judiciary Committee are members of the Federalist Society. Donald Trump picked “his” judicial nominees from lists provided by the Federalist Society.

I didn’t know that the Democrats were in on it until I tried to give them proof of judicial misconduct by Amy Coney Barrett at her Supreme Court confirmation hearing. If you would like to read about their reprehensible conduct, you can skip ahead to the Postscript on page 221 of my book. But, by all means, read the rest of the book.

The corruption is undeniable. The judges in both of my cases incorporated the defendant’s fraudulent defenses into their opinions even after I pointed out the fraud in every brief that I filed. These “judges” are clearly taking dictation from corporate defense counsel without even reading the plaintiff’s briefs.
