I hope Michael Moore is right about his expected Tuesdays results. For the past few weeks this has cost me sleepless nights knowing what will happen if these loons (GOP) get control of congress. The #'s that concern me the most is Biden's low approval (averaging around 43%) and less than 20% of the country feels its moving in the right direction. I know Michael was very confident back in 2016 when he picked Trump to win and seems just as confident about this Tuesday. Turnout so far has been very good in many states and average in others. I'm just hoping it will be the same blue wave as in 2018 and Michael will go 2-0 in his predictions from 2016 and Tuesday.

TR, There are more of “us” than “them”! That is what really lifts my hopes and spirits. IF we all vote, we got this! People are quite distressed by the Repugnant attacks on, well, Everything! We all want to live peacefully and in good health. A roof over our heads, a cat to curl up with and enough heat in the winter. Not too much to ask, right?

Janet, I’m trying to find a bottle of champagne here in my Indian rural community. Lots of liquor shops, but I just feel like lifting a glass of bubbly on Tuesday evening, which will be Wednesday morning in India. I am eager to see the results when the polls close. We don’t yet know what mischief and chaos the gremlins will wreak….

I volunteered to send postcards to 500 people in Pennsylvania to remind them to vote in the midterms. All 500 postcards were mailed last week. I was one of over 15,000 people across the country who volunteered to send postcards to battleground states. I have been a volunteer in every election since 1964, so I well understand that democracy is on the ballot this time around. Thank you, Mike, for your inspirational "Midterm Tsunami of Truth" Campaign. It is a great bastion of support, giving us hope for the survival of our beloved republic.

Lynde, Fantastic! I sent postcards to Arizona in October 2020, again to Georgia voters in December for the Senate races and again in the spring of 2021 to Nevada and Georgia voters. The results were what we worked and hoped for. People really like getting personally written postcards and there were articles about how effective that effort was. I am so happy you did it!

Michael, I believe I speak for others in saying that everything you have written, most of us have said to ourselves at one time or another, spoken about out loud, or dreamt about in nightmares, which awaken us at 2:00 in the morning. And, then there are people--like you--who haven't faltered, but have used all of your strength, fortitude, resilience, and insight to inspire, encourage, galvanize, and motivate those of us who have been feeling bombarded, deluged, and depleted. I joined this site a week ago, when I finally was overcome by the negativity, outright lies, deceit, manipulation, and dishonesty perpetuated by political enemies and friends alike. And, to my delight, I have received daily inspirational Tsunami Truths from you, and become part of a community of kindred spirits and defenders of democracy from towns, cities, and states throughout the country who are engaged in positive activities. When I read today's post, I initially was taken aback because it was what I had been reading for the last six months elsewhere. But after reflecting upon it, I realized that with only a few days left until the midterms, you felt you needed to remind people of what a Red Tsunami would look like--and you are using it as a motivational tool. While I believe we all know what this election means for our lives, and the lives of our children, and grandchildren, and generations to come, I understood why you felt everyone needed to be reminded, once last time, about what is at stake. I have some similar concerns that perhaps you can help me with. I strongly believe that President Biden or AG Garland or Christoper Wray needs to give a speech in the next day or so, about what they are planning on doing to safeguard our election on Election Day, and afterwards. Many of us here have already voted, But, there are a lot of people who haven't, particularly in red states where they have made it almost impossible to vote. And, those voters must know they will be protected from Republicans, MAGAs, and domestic terrorists. It is critical that those of us who are lawful to know that our government will protect us because we know that red state governors will not. We also need to know that people who interfere with elections will be immediately stopped and removed, that there is a national phone number people can call if they are intimidated or stopped from voting. They need to know that the President of the United States is using the power of his office to safeguard our election, and the counting of votes. When nothing is said about it beforehand, criminals are emboldened. It's time for President Biden to stop the violence before it begins, and put the criminals on notice. Thank you!

I emailed Biden about this a week ago. https://www.whitehouse.gov/contact/ as well as my senators. I included information about what Republicans were doing in some states, about a campaign manager who told Republicans to come at the last minute in droves to force Democrats to wait in long lines. About Oath Keepers who had been hired as poll workers. It was my 30th email to him...and in all of them, I urged him to taken action about something...mostly about saving our democracy in one way or another. I don't have any clout, but Michael does. I also asked Biden what the government can do if people go ballistic on Twitter or share their plans to foment violence. None of the organizers or planners of the Insurrection and coup have even been indicted except Steve Bannon, and he's fighting it as he foments violence on a daily basis.

Thanks Janet. We share the same concerns. I don't mean to keep on bringing up negative issues, but I've researched all of this, and I can't keep it inside any longer. I have tried to trust that the Biden White House is on top on things like this, but time after time, that hasn't proven to be true. According to the Brennan Center, "More than 440 bills with provisions that restrict voting access have been introduced in 49 states in the 2021 legislative sessions. These numbers are extraordinary: state legislatures enacted far more restrictive voting laws in 2021 than in any year since the Brennan Center began tracking voting legislation in 2011."

I'm not as worried about voting laws for the midterms as I am long-term. And, Democrats can sue about them. Yes, the early voting news is really good. I agree that we don't know what will happen until Election Day. I'm having a good feeling about things now. And, while it should be up to the states, both DeSantis, Abbott, and others have proven over and over again that they are dishonest and their actions border on criminality if it isn't actually criminal. And, I guess I just wish I had more confidence that the Biden Administration is on top of things. Yes, it would be a good idea for someone to give a warning shot about this so the American people feel we are in control and in charge. Janet, thank you for listening, and for being so supportive. I'm done thinking about it until Election Day. And, as I wrote before I do believe in miracles. My hope is that we so overpower them in terms of our votes that they'll be no way for them to say anything.

Thanks Lizzie! I have also felt they have been bystanders. And, if the Paul Pelosi attack doesn't confirm the threat, I don't know what universe they are living in. For six years, Republicans have been allowed to demonstrate their lawlessness and spread disinformation over and over again. Yes, some people have been jailed, but they included no higher level people. All my hopes rested in the work of the January 6th Committee. I thought that at least they understood the importance of providing information before the midterms. In record time, they unraveled the most complex multi-faceted seditious conspiracy in our nation's history. They proved there was no election fraud. They proved Trump was involved in every single aspect of it. They proved that high level members of the Trump administration, and his cronies were involved in the Insurrection and cover up. They needed to have sent a criminal referral of Trump to the DOJ, and didn't. It was inconceivable that they didn't stand behind all their hard work. From what I read, the criminal referral is largely symbolic, but its importance cannot be overstated. The final hearing should have been the last nail in Trump's coffin.

They should have issued the Interim Report they promised in September. At the very least, after every single hearing, they should have provided transcripts with a summary. They proved the case against Trump and the Republican Party (I realize they couldn't do anything, but send criminal referrals to the DOJ), but what they could have done is disseminate information. Since the last hearing in September, they have been sitting on a powder keg that could have blown up Trump and the Republican Party, and they have done nothing with it.

I'm not an attorney, and perhaps releasing it would affect the DOJ's case, but since they already had the public hearings, I don't understand why they couldn't release the information they already presented. And, if we have learned anything from Republicans, we know you need to repeat things over and over again. Honestly, I was dumbfounded that they did nothing, except issue a subpoena (which will be tied up in the courts forever.) Liz Cheney is the only person (to my knowledge) who continues to talk publicly about what they found. The fact that we Democrats (I don't mean the candidates; I mean the Democratic Party) didn't have a strategy for using this against Republicans in the midterms is about the most stunning failure I've ever witnessed.

I also don't understand why Trump was allowed to continue the same behavior that caused the Insurrection and coup, and nothing was done--even if it was only a part of an ad campaign. I don't understand why election deniers were allowed to run for office. Democrats should have sued every single one of them, or all of them in a class action suit. I won't dwell on it any more, but words without actions mean very little to me.

Mike, I just read your latest post. If the Dems do not win this week, we are all doomed. It will be two years of total hell, with Marjorie Taylor Greene, Matt Gaetz and Jim Jordan in charge of congressional committees, McConnell doing everything he can to obstruct justice and Biden's administration and the rest of the Trump enablers doing whatever their leader demands. McCarthy as Speaker of the House is even more frightening!

If the worse happens, what is planned for the Democrats to fight back? Hopefully, it will be a Democratic tsunami and the GOP will be diminished greatly. If not, we all need to plan on fighting back against autocracy (since democracy will be dead).

I am so hoping and praying for a Democratic blowout, but also fear for the worse too.

Patricia, Maybe we will have to take to the streets. That’s what we do when the chips are so down “it looks like up to me.” I was in the streets of NYC in the sixties. Nothing will stop me from joining my brothers and sisters, IF it comes to that. I AM WOMAN: I ROAR and I VOTE!

Elisabeth, I was in college in the late sixties. And, was weaned on demonstrations. Other than that period, there were more demonstrations during the Trump presidency that any other time in U.S. history. I believe nothing became of it, because our leaders did nothing about it. According to the Belfer Center at Harvard, "the Trump years launched the biggest sustained protest movement in U.S. history. Since early 2017, when they began counting, through Inauguration Day 2021, they counted nearly 60,000 protests and marches, with 21 million to 31 million participants." Since the other side is heavily armed, the only way to do it would be non-violent protests on our side. FYI...I love your addition to the Helen Reddy song.

I completely agree! It's only fitting that the three people you're mentioning should all have been removed from Congress. Marjorie Taylor Greenes' constitutes brought a case against her saying she shouldn't be on the ballot because she was involved in the Insurrection. It was given to a judge who specializes in tax cases and thrown out. Matt Gaetz's sexual trafficking case wasn't pursued because the DOJ prosecutors said they didn't have viable witnesses or something like that. Jim Jordan's case about his failure to protect the sexual predators that preyed on his wrestling team at Ohio State never was pursued. In addition, both Jordan and Greene were allegedly involved with Trump and the Insurrection, and that information hasn't been released.

Well said. All these people need to be removed from Congress. What bothers me the most are the constituents that vote for these losers. Jim Jordan make a fool of himself every time he opens his mouth. Gaetz and MTG are embarrassing

Thank you for all you do. I just signed up with Unity Blue to "cure" the vote here in NC. Had never heard of that before! What an education. Turns out THOUSANDS of early/absentee ballots are NOT COUNTED because of "technical" errors, ie: only 1 witness signature - (NC requires 2.) We have up to Nov. 17th to contact those voters to have them "correct" their ballot.

Victoria, this is wonderful. Keep at it. 2024 is the beg test of the voter suppression. In Georgia, Stacy might have one but Kemp “threw out” One MILLION votes as not valid. Keep going, we are all counting on you and others to protect our democracy. Xoxoxo

I hold onto the thought that democrats are going to win big. I have seen crowded early voting polling stations, at least around where I live, so people are getting out to vote. I know Trump has told Republicans not to vote early, most will be obedient. When I went to vote, I noticed about 80% women in line. So there are signs that you will be right and there will be a blue tsunami.

Yes too close for comfort. I’m so glad the Danes just voted for the Social Democrats instead of fascists like Sweden and Italy.

“But let me first say that there is NO reason why we should lose! There are 20 million more of us! The majority of Americans agree with us on nearly every issue, from climate to abortion to a living wage to expanding universal health care to gun control to paid family leave. 70% of eligible voters are women, people of color, or between the ages of 18-35 — or some combination of these three. THIS is the base of the Democratic electorate. The Democrats, who have won the popular vote in every presidential election but one since Bush the First in 1988.” - Michael Moore

Micheal, main stream media has not done justice to your positions. Even Joy Reid dropped the ball. Ari Melber barely let you speak. Today's papers (NYT, WaPo, WSJ, and local papers) are all pushing the GOP victory and I am so discouraged. My fear is that the average American has been brow beaten into submission and will not come out to vote. The early voting numbers are the only evidence I see that keeps me believing you are right. You need a bigger stage for your Tsunami Truth. You need to be seen and heard for 3-5 straight minutes of uninterrupted Truths to motivate the Eyore voters to get to the polls. I need to see more of you over the next 48 hours. More voters need to hear you.

Every person I have talked to in the past few days …. I always ask them if they have voted or intend to vote.

A few have said they still trying to make up their mind. I engage them in a conversation. What do you need to know? Have you done any research? Do you have a daughter? What are your concerns? Just to have a sensible conversation is refreshing! I don’t try to be pushy… I just ask them what their concerns are. I just ask them to please find the truth!

Do not get caught up in the lies! Protect your daughters! Find the truth! Let common sense guide you!

Please vote as if your life depended on it! It very might happen!

There are more of us than them!

Let America make it’s 250th Birthday as a proud nation, making the future brighter than it has ever been!! We The People! Not political parties!

I can’t wait to read what you have to say next!
