You bet your ass women have not forgotten. I’m a 65 y.o. woman who remembers my high school days when the class a few years a head of mine had teenage marriage as a solution to unexpected pregnancies making everyone’s life miserable. Heaven forbid you have a child out of wed lock! The year I graduated (1976), my good friend became pregnant. She had a safe, legal abortion and went on to college and adult life. It’s all about the choice. I recall even more clearly, this was all the girl/woman’s fault. Boys/men were innocent in any of this even when they stepped up to responsibility, they were regarded as “trapped” by the pregnancy they caused. Who in the hell wants that nonsense back?

all the while the boys/men were breathing a sigh of relief sitting in there car in the parking lot...all women that make this private difficult decision deserve comfort, compasion and MYOB.

I know I am furious..and I am 71. I remember when abortion was illegal. Women died. I already voted.

I remember when contraception was illegal for single people and schools were prohibited from teaching anything about sex education

And why the F do they want to take us back there? Because they want to render women powerless - totally powerless. The American Taliban.

I agree, Myrna. In the convoluted process they refer to as ‘my strong belief’ or ‘my strict faith’ somehow in their minds replaces the rule of law, is nothing more than a thin blanket of self-righteousness hiding all the dark ‘isms’ and hate they’ve desperately been clinging to. Women have historically been the easiest target of control by both men and women in positions of power. Whether it’s a big fish in a little pond, a slave owner in the 1858 Southern States, a President who relied on cheating to win (tfg). The SCOTUS upholding the decision to cheat the winner out of an election (W) or a modern genius responsible for revolutionizing cars. There has alway been those whose character has reveled it’s desire to inflict pain, violence and most of all power over others. Their weakness is the desire for that power, for that will always be their final undoing. Women are taking the loss of a constitutional right and bodily autonomy with resolve to restore our rights and move forward to the All Men Are Created Equal part of being an American.

Thank you for all your emails. You are the only one giving me hope about the upcoming election. I voted early and it was so crowded I had trouble finding a parking spot. Yesterday, there was a picture in the local paper of traffic jams at the same polling place. So people are still getting out to vote in mass.

Me, too! I early voted today and found the same thing....I hope this blows their heads off and shows us once and for all how manipulated we are by the media.

Thank God for your insight... it’s been a complete scam by the Southern Dixiecrats! Keep repeating a lie long and loud enough... OMG!!! Please keep up your work to inform!!!

I'm one of those pissed off women who fought for abortion rights in the 70's, and not happy about having to do it all over again. But I will, And I voted. And I have been working at an abortion clinic for the past 16 years, and believe me, there are A LOT of other pissed off women out there. No sir, women have certainly NOT forgotten. We never will! Next, the Equal Rights Amendment...we haven't forgotten that, either.

Thanks Celeste for bring up the ERA. I certainly have not forgotten. My 92 y.o. mother is pissed off! Like, we’re so flighty we can’t bother our pretty little heads about complicated issues like our constitutional rights or understand how our bodies work. I’m losing sleep over cauliflower! I was a Girl Scout, do I remember how to safely start a campfire?

I remember when only girls took home economics and boys took shop class (that was my sister’s class, 4 years ahead of mine).

In retrospect, the absurdity of how seriously our gender “roles” were taken that no one ever mentioned women were and still are 2nd class citizens because that concept was supposedly “over our heads”. Like we’re pets to be owned. I’m going to go wring my hands over gas prices and inflation after I vote solid blue, and write another post about corruption in the SCOTUS.

Go girl! Don't forget to include how the Supremes who lied under oath should be impeached. (Food for thought, how well are the countries doing that are led by women? Just saying.)

Mike, we love and appreciate you. This morning’s tsunami on women’s power to create the outcome we need was the Truth. Go women! Go vote!

No way we have forgotten! Where does the press get this shit?

We remain and will remain outraged to have lost this basic human right over our bodies. It continues to be horrifying to every woman I know!

I voted early (THE very first day), and here in So Jersey, which is mostly Republican (think evil turncoat van drew), when I went to vote and reached for my ID they didn’t need it they said, only tho I only had to TELL them was my name and address. What??? That was totally shocking to me & my husband.

But the ballot ,conveniently it seems, had the democrat running for this district at the tippy top of the ballot at the top of the machine so it was difficult to read. I found it, but wondered , would others?

Damn right- we Dems are angry: our loss of rights, the galloping (no more inching) towards fascism, where is the Justice of the country we love!?

Thank you Michael for your continued sane assessment & for being the voice we Need!

I was one who had an illegitimate baby and put it up for adoption. My next two pregnancies I aborted myself. Thank God I didn't permanently damage myself. At 77 I don't really care too much for myself, but younger women have got to.

Thank you Michael. I have turned off all the political BS and pray your crystal ball is the real deal. I really appreciate your logical thinking when I scared shitless. I really love our democracy and would hate to lose it.

Greg Palast's movie is FREE online today (Nov.2). It is a documentary about voting rights, Georgia....

vigilantemovie.com A quick summary below. Donations appreciated, but not required. Greg is an investigative reporter that has been fighting the good fight for years.

It’s not a story of Democrat versus Republican, but history versus smothered truth.

We are working with Black Voters Matter Fund, NAACP Georgia and other frontline groups to fight the assault on voting rights.

Keep trying if you can't get in right away. I hope you can see it too, Mike.

Just click on the terms and put in your email, steve. I think they don’t want “Bots” interrupting the transmission. That’s all. It is in the interest of Kemp and his fascist allies to keep people from watching this film. I hope it costs him the governor’s race. What a vile, asswipe of a so-called man. Ugh!

I think Obama was too busy cleaning up the fiscal failure of Bush's republican party that theoretically knows how to run business. And magats tote themselves as being able to curb inflation - what a joke. Obama was hamstrung the first 2 years with the bank meltdown. I do wish he could have made more progress on environmental stuff. If only Gore had won, how much better off would our climate be? sigh.

Yup... and you can find more examples in American history of not holding really bad actors accountable in the name of ... whatever!!! remember Lincoln should’ve hung, shot, jailed the treasonous folks... but decided the country had endured to much... America allowed some Germans to become citizens in-spite of the atrocities they committed against the Jewish people are the first ones that pop into my head... there’s wasaaaaaaaay more... not holding folks accountable is the first major sin!!! People tend to rewrite history and downplay their dubious actions... and those that are ok with “watered down “ history are just as bad...

Thank you, Michael. I wish polls would disappear. One week it's one way, next week it's the other way, for months on end. 2016 proved polls are useless. It's all about getting people to vote and making it easy and convenient for people to vote. So get out and vote and encourage others to do the same. I want to believe what you say, that sane people outnumber the crazy Magats, and sanity wins if we outvote the opposition. Keep on fighting, Michael!

I heard Bil Baird interviewed on the radio. He's around 90 now and brought three lawsuits to the Supreme Court that paved the way for Roe v Wade. One of those lawsuits involved him handing out contraceptives at a college rally.

What inspired him? He was witness to a woman with nine children come into a hospital, bloody from the waist down, with a hanger protruding out of her vagina. Yes, she died, leaving those nine orphaned children. We do not want to go back there!

Thank you, Michael, for reminding us.

Dear Michael, I hope and pray that you are right.

Midterms are notorious for low turnouts of voters.

And I'm still waiting for the young people to put down their cellphones and VOTE.

I could not wait to vote, when I was 18, and have never missed an election.

If the young women who just got a literal shot in the gut aren't willing to fight the way their grandmothers did for the right to control their own bodies, everyone will lose all of their rights.

I hope that they know that.

Hope is a four letter word for me.

I hope that I am wrong.

Folks, the choice this election is very clear. Do you want a party in power that promotes Hatred, Violence, Lying, & has No Plan to make things better or do you want a party in office that promotes Inclusion, Respect, Hardwork, & Has A Plan to improve the lives of all Americans? Please choose wisely. I did yesterday since we have early voting in NJ. I voted for Dems up and down the ballot! God bless you and keep you safe. Now go out and Vote Blue!
