As a civically minded person who stays in touch with what is going on in our world, and an empath, it can be very hard not to feel the pain of those getting really screwed over by the evil doings of the rich and powerful. To counter that I make sure I listen to music and dance and sing. I watch funny videos, shows and movies. I’m a sucker for rom coms and corny mystery shows too. I read historical fiction and mysteries and get lost in different worlds and cultures. I cook good food for family and my 91 year-old neighbor. There is an old Irish ☘️ notion that says a good woman has a good cry and a good laugh every day! Thank you Michael for caring for us the way you do. I’ve only gotten to know you in these last few years and I am so grateful. I hope you’re feeling better and will be in tip top shape to enjoy the celebration on November 9!!!!!!
I called out of work today. I've officially hit rock bottom in sobriety. 59 yr old barista. I loooove being called Maam. A salute with that bs would be nice! The toxic masculinity is suffocating and I just couldn't do it today.
I am the grandchild of immigrants who left the pogroms of Russia and the poverty of Leeds, England to survive as Jews and make a better life here. The majority of us are descendants of immigrants. And We each have our stories.
I think if my grandparents were alive they would be horrified & repulsed at the Republican Party, and the state of their decadence and corruption.
For us, for our children, and grandchildren—we must fight for our democracy, for equal rights, for Justice for all the reasons generations have immigrated here.
The majority, of which you speak, must understand that each vote is precious, each vote counts.

There are too many polls saying that we are going to lose at least one, if not both, houses. I am very frightened. Trying not to be. But I am. Janet, I dont believe my fear will sway the election one way or the other. That is magical thinking.
Of all your Tsunami messages, this one rang true; that we do have this. All we are looking at is hate, anger, fear and tyranny. It has shocked me seeing so many elected officials not saying anything against such hate, lies and violence, even embracing these. I volunteer for the women's voting league and there were more than a few times people got right in my face spewing "you'll not take my guns" and "democrats sucks". I just looked back calmly and asked that they vote with their conscious. It did unnerve me. However, this message reminded me that it was only a few out of over a hundred that did this.
