Labor Day Is a Great Day to Plan a Nonviolent Mini Revolution
It’s a perfect day to create your own Blue Tsunami.
In the end, victory on November 5th may be on OUR shoulders. That’s because sometimes the Democrats have had a knack for blowing it, just not being good at organizing, not being able to “read the room.” How did Gore and Hillary lose when they won the popular vote? How was a decent person like Jimmy Carter voted out of office?
So, just in case when you call the local Dems, but no one’s answering the phone, or you want to volunteer but they have nothing for you to do, that’s when you take matters into your own hands and form your own Democratic block club. Or you start making your own list of people you’re going to get to the polls. Book yourself on a local talk show! Why not? All you have to do is talk about getting out the vote! If they ask, who anointed you, just tell them Michelle Obama and give them this quote from her convention speech:
“We only have two and a half months, y’all, to get this done. Only 11 weeks to make sure every single person we know is registered and has a voting plan. So we cannot afford for anyone, anyone, anyone, America, to sit on their hands and wait to be called. Don’t complain if no one from the campaign has specifically reached out to you to ask you for your support. There is simply no time for that kind of foolishness. You know what you need to do.
So, consider this to be your official ask: Michelle Obama is asking you — no, I’m telling y’all — to do something.”
What else can you do between now and Election Day? Take a few minutes on this holiday to think about it.

P.S. My first movie, ROGER & ME, had its world premiere 35 years ago this Labor Day weekend at the Telluride Film Festival! Here’s a free link to watch it. Thanks to all of you for your support through these years.
** In order to have a troll-free, hate-free comments section — and because if there’s one thing I know about my crazy haters, they would rather spend an eternity in hell with Marjorie Taylor Greene than send me $5 if forced to become a paid subscriber — my Comments section here on my Substack is limited to paid subscribers. But, not to worry — anyone can send me their comments, opinions and thoughts by writing to me at mike@michaelmoore.com. I read every one of them, though obviously I can’t respond to all. The solution here is not optimal but it has worked and my Comments section has become a great meeting place for people wanting to discuss the ideas and issues I raise here. There is debate and disagreement, but it is refreshing to have it done with respect and civility, unfettered by the stench of bigotry and Q-anon insanity.
I'm a 67 year old dude from Illinois - spent Saturday knocking on doors in Milwaukee. How can you not enjoy talking about the Harris-Walz choice! I will be back - join us!
