Call it a bribe - or not?! So what! Your urgings of Biden are right on & would garner the Demos a ton of much needed votes!

In order to vote in November the Freedom to Vote: John Lewis Act, which passed the House, MUST pass the Senate. The Senate is scheduled to vote Tuesday. I called Senators Sinema and Manchin to say that failing to vote for BOTH the Freedom to Vote Act and the filibuster carve-out will be seen as supporting the seditious conspiracy. You can't split the baby of democracy!

After 11 indictments and arrests for seditious conspiracy and the revelation of the documents of false slates of electors in 5 states, the tentacles of the conspiracy are being revealed and the investigations in the House and DOJ are going higher and wider.

I also called moderate and retiring Republican senators to say that now is the time for Republicans to distance themselves from the seditious conspiracy and the best way to do that is to vote for the Freedom to Vote Act and the filibuster carve-out.

Please do the same. At least we will know that we did not just sit around and complain while democracy died.

Absolutely agree with you!! i don't know what to do about concerns that "democrats" like Manchin & Cinema, won't vote for the voting rights bills, or all the republicans who won't vote for it ...I always thought Democracy meant one citizen/one vote. Isn't anyone against that treasonous to our country? How can they be allowed to hold office? Here in WA State we have free and fair elections - every voter receives a ballot in the mail and we can drop it off or mail it in. All private, no intimidation, no fraud. This is how our whole country needs to vote!

I agree! I've been saying that for awhile now "When they go low, we knock them out a the knees" We need to be forceful and strong to save our democracy!

Great plan Mike (this, from your Canuck friend who has no vote) but I fear your logic is flawed in one area. It’s obvious that Manchin is a Republican (or being paid off by the GOP) and whatever the Dems do to appease him will never be enough. He’s clearly there to screw up President Biden’s agenda and “pay him off” won’t work: give him what he wants and he’ll simply up the ante for more. You’ll never win against him.

Yes! Excellent article. I have noticed that Biden is losing his support because he is pushing his peas around the plate. He's not leading. I expected more. And we do need some really good Dem candidates to run. I agree also with the state level. Thank you for your comments.

I absolutely love these ideas! I districting that I see in my blue state just blows my mind! How about just going with counties or townships? Yes, all these ideas are good but the one that really appeals to me is the elimination of gerrymandering!

Love the way your mind works!!

As a Canadian, I am pleasantly surprised by the aggressive tone Biden is taking. If the USA loses democracy, it will hurt Canada too, there already some Conservatives in Canada taking their cue from the former President, however, they were mostly shut out in the last Federal election, but they did get quite a lot of votes. Democracy is getting challenged in many countries, the US has to be the shining light off set this trend.

You're right, Mike, about what was done here in Michigan. Others should do the same, wherever they are located, so that we can achieve more equity (and logic!) in our politics...

“Republicans were more likely to say that “voting is a privilege that comes with responsibilities and can be limited if adult U.S. citizens don’t meet some requirements,” while Democrats were more likely to say that voting is “a fundamental right for every adult U.S. citizen and should not be restricted in any way.”

Republicans are trying to thwart the will of the people and deny the right to vote.

Vote blue for democracy. Vote red for autocracy. Your choice, America! 🇺🇸

Don't take your eye off Trump. I heard Bill Maher say that he is like a shark that went out to the deep ocean and is biding his time. He is betting that we won't organize and hoping we are distracted with trivial bull crap. Focus Democrats!

We hear ver ylittle about the people he is putting in place to "Find him" the 11k votes nest time. I am ver yworried that 2020 was a trial run to see where the weak links were, and supplant them.

Executive orders ... Yes! What Go-Slow-Joe should have done from Day 1. Better late than never, I guess. Even Trump figured it out. Critical issues have the support of the people; why allow a warped and failing system to block progress? WORTHY Dem candidates. Wow! Who woulda thunk it? But can a hack nominating process, whose operative mantra, as you, Michael, point out is to choose people as close to Republicans as possible, produce winners? Big "If". Local referendums and ballot measures ... Great idea to galvanize interest and generate ballot support. One more "winner" possibility ... Forget the cozy, pointless Senate and House "chats" ... aggressively prosecute the January 6th and GOP insider traitors, so faith in punishing lawbreakers and violent terrorists is clearly demonstrated. Do you think if Biden had incited the Dems to storm the Capitol that Trump and the GOP would have hesitated for a second to jail them?

Status Quo Joe, 40 years in the Senate as a "moderate." No way he or the DNC would allow any of this to happen. They follow the orders of the Corporate, Capitalist, Christian War Mongers.

Agree and Biden has also had a very long and cozy relationship with the Banking lobby, any wonder he can’t lift his pen and wipe out some student loan debt.

Very sad. The truth is that corporate and capitalist America run the country. The Christian war mongers have been itching to cause a Right Wing Crusade.

I would love to believe that Joe has turned the corner and has the desire and will to "take one for the country", but I fear he is not that strong. Yes, I was so pleasantly surprised to hear his new stand on the filibuster, but it was too late in coming. His political tendency is to follow and not lead. We need him to be bold and unafraid of consequences, just do it. Maybe we send him a NIKE teeshirt and a pair of NIKE shoes to wear while he acts on his necessary duties that lay before him. JUST DO IT, Joe!
