Michael! Your snark is the best I’ve heard. Upon reading this article I almost lost my monocle, spit out only my lower dentures (if I had them) and laughed so hard my one and only hearing aid fell out. I’m lost without you!

Great parodies, Michael! What do you think about funding the total reconciliation bill JUST through 2025 and the Democrats' platform for 2024 be on an extension of all of the reconciliation benefits?

I'm thinking we would maybe have more voter turnout in 2024 in order to continue these very helpful benefits. I would love to know what you think!

Thank you, Michael, for including the email addresses of these two senators (DINO) in your message. Here is the message I sent to each:

"Even though you may ignore my message since I do not live in your state, I am writing as an American citizen who cares about our country. After the scourge of the Trump presidency/debacle, we are sorely in need of the policies included in President Biden's infrastructure and reconciliation bills. I urge you in the strongest possible way to support these bills and give the American people the support they need. The price tag is not too high since it will be financed by the richest Americans at a rate they used to pay decades ago. Polls show that 2/3 of Americans support these bills. Please don't obstruct what could be the crowning achievement of the 21st century, an achievement akin to Roosevelt's New Deal. Don't place yourself on the wrong side of history beause of your corporate donors. Do the right thing and vote with your fellow Democrats. I beg of you!"

Is it okay if I copy this? If anyone asks, I won't plagiarize. I'll give credit where it's due.

This should go in the history and poli-sci books.

It's human nature to vent, hopefully in a good way as you are. President Lincoln would pace in his room and write out what he'd really like to say to someone but then revise to be diplomatic, great as he was at it. (I hate it when I get stuck in WTF?! mode.

Regarding the spelling of Froot Loops — although I tried to spell it the right way(Froot), the nuns in my head would not allow it. They made me spell it “Fruit”. Although they have served me well for decades, sometimes they need to loosen up a just let me goo.

These two are pandering to their largely Republican constituents, Michael. It's that simple. They're afraid they'll get voted out if they vote for the bill. They're not centrists, they're Republicans pretending to be Democrats. The GOP never likes to give people what they need; for them, it's all about their careers. This is a no-brainer.

They're also very wealthy and don't want to pay their fair share, same for their GOP friends.

Been listening today to Freddie Mercury's "A Winter's Tale."

Last song he wrote. May be his last vocals before 11/24/1991 came and he left us.

Decided to subscribe to you on Substack today Mike.

Been reading free for a while. Many thanks for that.

No better way to spend $50.

You are a uniquely funny and sensible man who guides me into action-- in humor and joy.

Thanks for making it easy for me to call and email these Representatives of the People.

And listen to this beautiful piece of music everyone.

It will uplift you, is my wish for you all.

And nourish you to keep believing in your own power.

Wrote them both for all the good it will do. I live in Red TN and have written scores of emails, left voicemails and signed petitions to the two Repugnicants we have in the Senate and get the same form letter each time or an aide swears they will relay the message. I'll probably have a stroke before they respond with anything but their usual crap form correspondence. These two need to change their party affiliation. And West VA would not benefit from any of this?? Come on!!!

Don't have a stroke Jan, please. We all need to keep calling and emailing. It's the energy of it. The Universe will intervene. If Manchin had a stroke, it'd be poetic justice, denying the very things we need. The working class are the legs this country stands on. History shows what happens when they and the middle class breaks down.

I know. I just get so frustrated writing and voicing my pleas and feel like it just gets ignored. I feel like it never reaches the proper person who is in a position to do anything other than listen and hang up,, or read and delete. But I will persist! I am a tenacious Taurus and when this bull sees Red, there is no stopping 😉.

My girlfriend is the same way, she's an Aries. I know when to hide. But you know, it really is the Archetypal Feminine. Not to be trifled with. The Erinyes will wreak their vengeance.

The prophet Micaiah warned 2,800 years ago about the spirit that can move us to harm to others. We're being denied what we've worked for all our lives.

Jesus saw what would make for our peace. But especially, how it can be hidden from our eyes if we persist in harming anyone. Over a hundred people had been crucified in His time.

He knew it was coming for Him, like prophets before.

(Luke 19:41-44)

So, we're basically dealing with GOP Republicans, even Sinema and Manchin, who are in denial about their motives in challenging what the vast majority of us need and want as surveys show.

NB Michael and other activists like Jane Fonda, know we need to pull back and rest until we're ready to jump back in. I need to, for sure. Jesus had wished the Earth were already kindled, sick at heart as He was. He hid Himself a lot.

It's obvious by now that those 2 senators don't care about the problems of majority of the American people and don't care about the poor. Their only concern is their bank accounts.

Democrats need to do some cleaning of the party!

Wow! That is one, sharp satirical sword you wield there, Mr. Michael Moore. But Sinema and Manchin won't admit their stupidity, even GOP Republicans and their Trump supporter fan base. They'd rather pay the high cost of child-care and skip out on the high paying jobs these bills would bring. And when they're old, they'll go with the upper teeth, monocle and one hearing aid.

Michael, I was born in your home state of Michigan and came to Canada in that terrible year of 1968, (MLK and RFK assassinations, the height of death in Vietnam, and on and on) just after the police riot at the DNC in Chicago. I was there. It was quite a scene. I still get deep chills remembering chanting, with thousands of others: "The whole world is watching!" I was one of the first Vietnam war resistors to come here and have never regretted it for a minute. (Muhammad Ali is my personal hero because he was willing to sacrifice his incredible fame and fortune for his unshakeable opposition to that wretched human tragedy. I only learned a few short years ago that I shared another profound connection to him, as I have Parkinson's Disease.)

I have been an admirer of your work from "Roger and Me" and have always appreciated your supportive references to my adopted country. Canada has many of its own issues to face, historical and present-day, but there are proportionately more people here, it seems to me, willing to acknowledge that and work on building a better Great White North.

I became a Canadian citizen in the mid 70s but, against the advice of many, did not renounce my U.S. citizenship, so I am a dual citizen and still file tax returns with the IRS. It is - how shall I put this? - inconvenient, but I have always hoped for a better future for my native land and will continue to do so to my dying day. Hopefully, I will meet Muhammad on the other side. In the meantime, I feel privileged to be part of your growing (it seems to me) movement and you can continue to rely on me for support. All the best from Toronto.

You're a man after my own heart, soul and mind. Joseph Campbell reminds us in his epic The Hero With A Thousand Faces, that the golden rule has always been the golden path to God and Heaven. Something GOP politicians and their constituents have yet to learn. Most of them claim to be Christian.

Here's what I sent:

"The majority of American citizens want this legislation to pass. The investment in the environment, senior citizens, children, families, education, and infrastructure is necessary and critical. Because you are standing in the way, that makes me your constituent. Please stop stalling and vote to pass it. As it is. Thank you."
