Here's How We Win Arizona (and How YOU Can Help)
Another Brick in the Big Blue Wall, Another Overwhelming Win for Women, Peace and Democracy... (If We Want It)
Friends,
We have 26 days left to defeat Donald Trump, from the wee hours of today until the polls close late on November 5th. We must not waste a single second or take a single vote for granted.
Early voting begins NOW in Arizona.
For all you Arizonans, that means that if you are already signed up to vote early, then your ballot should have been put in the mail yesterday. It may even have arrived then, or it may arrive today. Check your mailboxes now and often, before your local Republican election board official shows up to steal it. (Yes, that’s a federal crime and yes, clearly these GOP MAGA weirdos do not care.)
If you have not signed up to vote early, you can still request an early ballot by mail right now. Just go to the website of the Arizona Secretary of State. You can request this early ballot up until October 25th… but why wait 15 days? Do it now! Vote now! And then, focus on getting everyone you know to vote next.
If you can vote in Arizona but are going to be out of the state on Election Day, please get your absentee ballot now.
And if you don’t live in Arizona and you can’t vote in Arizona – there is still plenty for the rest of us to do! Arizona matters, the results there matter. As I laid out the other day, if Kamala Harris fails to carry Michigan or one of the other key Blue Wall States, we will need every other state we can possibly win.
And to complete our Big Blue Blowout – an election landslide victory that would be the equivalent of tying Trump to a horse and slapping the horse’s ass (the horse’s, not Trump’s, unless he’s paying for it but get your cash up front) and letting it ride off into the Arizona sunset with him onboard – we’ve got to win Arizona.
There are THREE MAJOR ISSUES at stake in Arizona:
The White House
The Senate
A Woman’s Right to Control Her Own Body and Exist as an Equal Citizen
So let’s quickly run through these:
1. THE WHITE HOUSE
Arizona is worth 11 electoral college votes and is pivotal in vanquishing two-time loser Donald Trump (and turning him into “Three-Time Loser Donald Trump”).
Arizona is currently listed as a toss-up. In 2020, Biden and Harris won the state by just 10,457 votes. Every single vote matters! Arizona could be the difference between a Trump “Day One” Dictatorship and a Harris presidency. It could be the difference between a second seditious (and probably even more stupefying) January 6th insurrection and a victory so huge that Elon Musk, Marjorie Taylor Greene, Jake Paul and all the other MAGA patriots get so lost in their own circuitous conspiracy theories that they blast themselves into outer space on one of Elon’s exploding rockets in a last ditch effort to survive “being ruled by a woman.”
2. THE SENATE
Arizona is also a key part of keeping (and expanding) the Democratic Majority in the United States Senate — so we can defend this country and push the progressive agenda.
Democrat Ruben Gallego is taking on MAGA mega-conspiracy theorist Kari Lake. The winner replaces Sen. Kyrsten Sinema. Two years ago, Kari Lake ran for governor supporting an 1864 Arizona law that banned all abortion including in cases of rape and incest (“A great law!”). She spent much of that 2022 campaign spreading lies about the 2020 “stolen election” wrapping herself in the MAGA blanket of buffoonery. Then, when she was clearly defeated in the 2022 Governor’s race, she, of course, denied those results and still claims to be the duly elected governor of Arizona to this day.
Earlier this year, now running for Senate, she held a campaign event where she spoke underneath a Confederate flag.
And even after that, Trump and Vance still campaigned with her. Just a couple weeks ago, they let her go on stage right ahead of Trump before realizing their mistake — here’s a photo of her talking and talking and talking while the Trump teleprompter is telling her to “GET OFF STAGE”:
3. VOTE ‘YES’ ON THE STATEWIDE ABORTION ACCESS INITIATIVE
We must vote to protect women’s lives, women’s equality, and women’s control over their own bodies.
There is a statewide initiative — Prop 139 — on the ballot. Everyone who votes NEEDS to vote YES on Prop 139.
A “Yes” vote on Proposition 139 is a vote in favor of a citizens’ initiative to amend the state constitution to enshrine a woman’s right to control their own healthcare decisions, including the fundamental right to abortion. The MAGA Republican Party and their extremist, corrupt and downright strange Supreme Court Justices have banned abortion — and IVF, fertility treatments and birth control are next on their agenda.
They must be stopped.
We need every single vote we can get. So…
HOW YOU CAN HELP:
Whether you live in Arizona or you live in Palo Alto, here’s how you can help.
1. Get in touch with ARIZONA FOR ABORTION ACCESS
Arizona for Abortion Access is working right now to pass Prop 139. They are on the front lines, relentlessly reaching voters, non-voters, potential-voters, sometimes-voters, lapsed-voters and forgetful-voters. They are working on the ground in neighborhoods and communities all across the great state of Arizona, affiliated with SEIU and Planned Parenthood Action Fund.
Arizona for Abortion Access welcomes your help!
Share their link with your friends across the country via group chat, social media, email, word-of-mouth — whatever! They have opportunities to phone bank and text bank — these are actions you can do from anywhere. They are also organizing “Post Card Parties” so you can reach out directly to Arizona voters.
Find direct action ways to get involved with the “YES ON 139” campaign at their Mobilize.Us site.
Download, Print and Share the PDF below from Arizona for Abortion Access that details all the ways you can help pass Prop 139 and how you can contact the group directly:
Even if all you can do is to take their message and amplify it, sharing their site and their work in your own social media and with your friends, THAT HELPS! Every little bit helps. Whatever you can do. We only have right now.
2. Get in touch with: LUCHA — Living United for Change in Arizona
Abortion is not the only important issue on the ballot. There are also statewide initiatives targeting service workers and restaurant workers and candidates pushing mass deportation policies. LUCHA has been working tirelessly in Arizona’s Latino and progressive communities to mobilize voters around issues of economic equity, inclusive democracy, the environment and protecting and empowering our immigrant communities. Their work is vitally important not just during the election cycle, but year-round. However, right now, their work could mean the difference between all of us getting together and fixing this country… or Donald Trump and Kari Lake making decisions about our lives and our bodies and rounding up our friends and neighbors and ripping kids away from their families. Click here to get involved — from wherever you live.
3. Volunteer with the Arizona Democrats who are organizing phone banks and text banks you can do from anywhere as well as regular in-person canvassing events.

There are 26 days left. This election won’t be won by arguing with Russian bots on Elon Musk’s infested website or trying to convince your conservative-brother-in-law on Facebook.
Right now, this election is all about word of mouth and reaching the people we must reach in order to win — the progressive (and sometimes disaffected) beating heart of America.
There are more of us than there are of them.
Let’s go.
ARIZONA: Important Dates:
EARLY VOTING: OCTOBER 9th - NOVEMBER 1st — From Wednesday, October 9, 2024 to Friday, Nov 1, 2024, early in-person should be available in each Arizona county. Contact your local county election office to find out your specific dates and times. You do not have to wait until election day. Avoid the lines! Vote early. Then, you’ll be free to drive people to the polls on Election Day!
LAST DAY TO REQUEST AN EARLY/ABSENTEE BALLOT: OCTOBER 25th — If you (or anyone you know!) are registered to vote in Arizona but will be out-of-state on Election Day or during the Early Voting period, make sure to request your Absentee Ballot NOW! October 25th is the deadline to request early and absentee ballots. Keep in mind that all Absentee Ballots are due by Election Day, November 5th!
LAST DAY TO MAIL IN YOUR EARLY VOTING OR ABSENTEE BALLOT: This depends on where you are. DO NOT WAIT. All ballots MUST BE RECEIVED by November 5th at 7:00 PM Local Time in Arizona in order to count. For mailing a ballot, that means you must get in the mail by October 25th to be sure. After that, you will need to drop it off in person.
LAST DAY TO RETURN ABSENTEE AND MAIL-IN BALLOTS: ELECTION DAY: NOVEMBER 5th @ 7:00 PM — Do not wait to mail in absentee ballots. Let me repeat: Your absentee ballot MUST be received by November 5th at 7:00 PM local time. You don’t have to put it in the mail. If you are within a week to ten days from the election, find a local authorized drop box, go to the local election commission or polling place and/or contact the Secretary of State to find the best place for you to drop off your ballot in time, by the close of business on Election Day.

** In order to have a troll-free, hate-free comments section — and because if there’s one thing I know about my crazy haters, they would rather spend an eternity in hell with Marjorie Taylor Greene than send me $5 if forced to become a paid subscriber — my Comments section here on my Substack is limited to paid subscribers. But, not to worry — anyone can send me their comments, opinions and thoughts by writing to me at mike@michaelmoore.com. I read every one of them, though obviously I can’t respond to all. The solution here is not optimal but it has worked and my Comments section has become a great meeting place for people wanting to discuss the ideas and issues I raise here. There is debate and disagreement, but it is refreshing to have it done with respect and civility, unfettered by the stench of bigotry and Q-anon insanity.
My friend from Arizona is now living in Panama. Expats are allowed in every state to register and vote using the last address where they lived in the U.S. When my friend requested an AZ ballot as a voter from abroad, they told her she needed a driver's license or state ID and a temporary address, which of course she doesn't have. She has been out of the country several years. This is the first time she was unable to get a ballot as she had always done before. Finally she found an expat voter website where she will get a ballot. This is illegal AZ voter suppression.
I still can't believe America would even consider Trumpolini worthy of public office at any level. His upcoming rally at Madison Square Garden is him throwing a bone to all the loonies that might think that the 1939 Nazi rally was a good thing. It was a disgrace. That it happened at all is a stark reminder that America is not all it's cracked up to be sometimes.
Donito's goons set up this latest Bund rally to distract and outrage. It certainly will. That is what he wants. We need to do better. Nixon won 49 states with the electoral college. Trumpolini should lose every single state.
No excuses, America. This has all happened before. It must not happen again.
That historically shameful day:
