Hey! Trump has been indicted! By a grand jury of normal, everyday Americans who interviewed witnesses, examined all the evidence, considered all of the law, debated the merits of arresting a former president, weighed the threat he posed to the nation and to our democracy, questioned if we really believe it when we say “no one in America is above the law!”, and considered if it was fair to Mr. Trump that after past presidents had skirted the law, burglarized political opponents, colluded with foreign countries to hold our fellow Americans as hostages in order to help win an election, lied to the American people about an American ship being attacked in the Gulf of Tonkin as an excuse to invade Vietnam, not allowing boats of Holocaust refugees escaping Nazi Germany to dock here and then sending them back to their deaths, committing war crime after war crime bombing civilian populations in Iraq, Cambodia, Belgrade and elsewhere — yes, the grand jury had to consider why no past president was ever indicted for their crimes and why should this one be the first. They also had to consider that if they let this one get away with it, this would send a powerful signal to future presidents that they can violate whatever laws they see fit because, indeed, one American IS above the law and must not face the consequences of his actions. That there is justice for all, but one.
As above , THANK YOU! You should be loudly and repeatedly quoted on every news station, including NPR
I love you, Michael Moore! You have led us from the darkness on so many occasions, I'm tempted to send you some flowers! Thank you for letting us celebrate this GREAT DAY FOR OUR NATION!
Thank you for encouraging us to hope and see a better, brighter future for our country!
Thank you for working for all of us for so many years and through so many disturbing times!
Thank you for reminding us that WE REALLY ARE THE PEOPLE!
Thank you! I keep repeating your manta concerning US Congress, that the balance of R’s versus D’s can change because of deaths, indictments, etc.
Your postings give me hope, happy to support you!
Best, Liz, Gulf War Veteran
You are a tonic! Hugs to you.
LOVE IT Michael.
We are rejoicing it down in Australia.
But we’d like to see him cuffed.
Can you arrange that as well please.
I am so grateful for you, Michael. Keep on keeping on!
So true, Michael, the skeptics (moderates/centrists) always want to piss on our parade but I won't let them. I'm not ecstatic yet, I will truly celebrate once this effer is convicted and being escorted to prison, even if for a day. Thank you for your insights and enthusiasm, we need the ongoing cheerleading 👏💖
HELL YEAH (Grinning and pumping fist) !!!!
Oh man did I need this pep talk -especially being reminded the good stuff that has happened and that will continue to happen. It's been difficult to shut off the gloom and doom and thinking of "what ifs" and then... when I read your "Don't Stop Believing" posts, I get all happy inside. Thank you, Michael!
Yes I am with you! Have been since the very beginning! Since your first movie! Your are one person who has always told the truth, the whole truth and nothing but the truth! Even when the truth hurts! You are my trusted truth teller!
I have an uneasy feeling about what will happen in the days to come… 45 will not be happy until some violence occurs! I can just imagine what is going on in some back rooms… His fans are not happy! We have seen what they are capable of! I pray that saner minds will prevail and the law enforcement agencies have a plan to quell any fools who decide they want to prove their loyalty to 45! We have seen what happens those fools! May peace prevail and may 45 get what is coming to him!
Thank you Michael!
God Bless America!
Here Here Michael! I am ecstatic that karma has finally come around to this traitor, who true to his being, immediately turned this into a grift by asking for more money from his stooges. However this ends up, he will forever be remembered as the twice-impeached, one-term, first-ever indicted ex-President. Convicted or not, nothing he says or does from here on out can change any of that. History will speak the truth.
I have enjoyed a few (small) glasses of a nice Sicilian red while reading the post, and all the replies. With Trump and his legal team, I feel Sicilian is a good match. (Read somewhere this week that "the Donald" was coined as a tribute to the "Dons" in the Godfather movies.)
With the right-wing, every accusation is a confession, and so the accusations about the DA getting "Soros money" is covering up for the real money going away from Trump -- who has outlived his usefulness -- and to a more promising and controllable standard-bearer. This indictment will be treated as a good thing -- and necessary to their next steps.
"We" are indeed a majority in America -- but lopsided in the distribution throughout the states. And it's the states that determine elections. Keep a close eye on Wisconsin tomorrow. If the Dem wins, it's another big reason to celebrate.
I fall into that category of not being hopeful, in fear of the big let down, especially regarding TFG. A guy that washes down buckets of KFC with 12 packs of Pepsi, always surviving to the next day. But, maybe he will finally lose his teflon. Time for us to be optimistic. But it ain't easy.
I think that the Trump indictment is a distraction to a couple of earth-destroying events happening at the moment. Biden gave the go-ahead to drilling in the Arctic. The activity of drilling will melt the permafrost at the drilling site. Consider the mess when Conoco Phillips will inevitably cause a massive combustion event and spill. Corporations have shown that they cannot even be trusted with old technology such as train transportation. He also gave the go-ahead for drilling off the gulf coast. Anyone remember the Deepwater Horizon oil spill?
This man frightens me still. when I see congressmen supporting hime and saying this is a "Witch Hunt" I want to say WHEN ARE YOU going to stand up for what is right. Still confused why he has so many followers
I’m glad there will be a serious scrutiny of his crimes but so sad for your country. He’s created such a mess.
