So we took a vote here in the office using ranked choice voting, and these were the top 4 vote-getters: Pete Buttigieg, J.B. Pritzker, Tim Walz, and Gretchen Whitmer.
Folks here thought that my idea of TWO WOMEN on the ticket — “HARRIS/WHITMER”— would be “about damn time”… “a great choice to help in Michigan”… and “I’ve voted in nine presidential elections and I’ve never heard anyone complain that there’s nothing but two men (and one Sarah Palin) on both sides of the ballot every time! Nobody ever said that was strange — or wrong!” (Too bad Governor Whitmer dropped out.)
The staff here loves Walz’s aggressive progressiveness and his wry sense of humor (he got the most votes). “Plus,“ said one co-worker, “Minnesota gave us Prince, the Coen brothers and Bob Dylan. So I’m sure this guy is ok, too.”
Everyone got excited at the idea of a Mayor Pete / JD Vance debate. He recently moved to Traverse City, Michigan, with his husband and kids — a possible plus for helping us win Michigan.
J.B. Pritzker was a split vote. On one hand, he signed a bill that will erase nearly $1 billion dollars of medical debt for hundreds of thousands of Illinois residents. On the other hand, he’s a billionaire.
Senator and astronaut Mark Kelly didn’t make the cut, even though there are positive feelings about him because of who he’s married to (Gabby Giffords) and, well, who doesn’t love an astronaut?!
Let us know your pick amongst these top 4! VOTE NOW!
** In order to have a troll-free, hate-free comments section — and because if there’s one thing I know about my crazy haters, they would rather spend an eternity in hell with Marjorie Taylor Greene than send me $5 if forced to become a paid subscriber — my Comments section here on my Substack is limited to paid subscribers. But, not to worry — anyone can send me their comments, opinions and thoughts by writing to me at mike@michaelmoore.com. I read every one of them, though obviously I can’t respond to all. The solution here is not optimal but it has worked and my Comments section has become a great meeting place for people wanting to discuss the ideas and issues I raise here. There is debate and disagreement, but it is refreshing to have it done with respect and civility, unfettered by the stench of bigotry and Q-anon insanity.
I vote Bernie Sanders as Harris' VP.
