Love these Artist Donald images. My gallery will post them a couple at a time online.

My 97 yr old Aunt said: "I'm glad I lived my 97 years in the land of the free, but I'm not keen on living these next years in home of the brave"

Love these portraits so much, such emotion in them. This is how we all feel. I'm showing them to my grand daughters (14 & 17) tonight at our Passover Seder.

Anyone with Trump's lack of mental health, and obvious mental decline, should not be anywhere near ANY source of power, let alone the White House.

Thanks again for a great post Michael. Bravery and courage are essential. Unfortunately in short supply in mega law firms, congress and universities. They all have their power and pile of cash to protect. Trading it for ethics and morality. A Faustian bargin. Guess the rest of us just have to show them who it's done. COURAGE EVERYONE!

On a slightly different topic, I played at an elementary school many years ago and introduced the fourth graders to the cello. Where does it come from? The teacher pulled down a map of the world: The tailpiece and fingerboard comes from ebony which comes from Madagascar. And she showed the kids where Madagascar was. The bow comes from pernambuco, which (used to) grows at the edge of the Amazon rain forest. The wood comes from Europe, the maker from France, but he made it in Italy. The strings from Germany, the horse hair on the bow from Siberia. Then I asked the kids where they came from--what a treat! From all over the world. Africa, Asia, South and Central America, and, of course, there was the teacher pointing to all of their birth places on the map. How proud we all felt!

Why don't they speak up?

This reminds me of a true story related by Robert Atkins, Member of Parliament in the U.K.:

Kruschev was discoursing at a meeting in Russia at great length over the iniquities of Stalin, when a voice yelled “As one of his colleagues why didn’t you stop him?”

Unbearable silence ensued after which Kruschev thundered:” Who said that?”

After a long silence, Kruschev said “ Now you know why.”

wondering, is this a verified story or might it be apocryphal?

Per my notes from a few years ago, I lifted this from "KINDLY SIT DOWN ! BEST AFTER-DINNER STORIES FROM BOTH HOUSES OF PARLIAMENT (Compiled by Jack Aspinwall, MP (1983)"

Thank you, L.D. Whether it occurred or not, it's one to remember when our own bravery is being challenged.

I found a conversation between two journalists on NPR in 2006 in which they both remember similar stories; from a piece on Krushchev's secret meeting: https://www.npr.org/2006/02/25/5233399/telling-the-story-of-krushchevs-anti-stalin-tirade

I would say that these constitute dual verifications of a sort. True or not, they carry their own inherent validity.

You know whose Jewish voice for peace I would love to hear? Chuckie Schumer! With Trump, Rubio and a phalanx of border agents telling us you’re either with Israel or you’re not allowed in, the minority leaders of both houses are curiously silent!

I hope someone is making a book out of these portraits---and out of the signs on a week ago's across country protest with "Ikea cabinets better than Trump's" on cover! I'm too old and madly writing to do these, but I hope someone will. As for cover of portrait book the marvelous emperor wearing no clothes would be good. Bless you, Michael Moore!

As a musician I've been forced to play the Star Spangled Banner many times. Ugh. Yes, the words are pretty awful, but did you ever wonder where the melody came from? It's taken from an exclusive white man's club, and it's a drinking song! You can hear it now, in your mind, with those drunk idiots cracking the high note (when we say the word "brave"). Next time you're at a ball game, sing it as if you've had a few too many and you'll find that it works perfectly.

Thanks for letting us know of those who are actively standing up for justice, even out in the hinterlands of Idaho! Inspiring stuff.

The galleries are spectacular, and of far more intrinsic worth than their subject matter.

Microsoft and other tech partners, like Google and Amazon, are helping redefine the ugly underbelly of U.S. technology’s use in war.

We’ve set up a digital action where you can send emails to Microsoft leadership, including AI CEO Mustafa Suleyman, with just a few clicks.

And let’s tell Google to stop weaponizing AI, and to cut ties with Israel.

Combatants for Peace

The world needs to see that humanity persists, that there is another way, and that despite everything, we will not stop fighting for a future built on dignity, justice, and peace for all. We can't do this alone and your support is crucial.

Amid the ongoing devastation in Gaza, we are here to say: the Israeli-Palestinian Joint Memorial Ceremony will take place this year. We will not bow to those who seek to silence us.

Every contribution goes directly toward production, logistics, and, most importantly, ensuring the safety and security of all participants and guests.

The ceremony is live streamed on 29th April 2025 at 8:30pm Jerusalem time. You can register online:
