PLEASE SPEND SUNDAY FROM THE COMFORT OF YOUR HOME AND SAVE AMERICA
All you need is your phone...
You know. That device you call a phone – which is actually a computer, a camera, a movie theatre, a television, a tape recorder, a piano keyboard, an answering machine, a typewriter, a satellite GPS locator, a map, an EKG monitor, a compass, a calculator, a measuring tape, a massive amount of file cabinets, medical record storage, a foreign language translator, a yard sale, a Goodwill store, all kinds of stores, a grocery delivery boy, the chef making your dinner tonight, the morning paper, your concierge, a chauffeur who will take you anywhere, shoot a quick telegram to anyone around the world, it’s a library, a bookstore, an encyclopedia, your textbooks, you never forget a birthday, OMG YOU FORGOT YOUR COUSIN’S BIRTHDAY! and within minutes she has received a gift from you, it’s your weatherman, your rolodex, your address book, your own branch of the United States Post Office, it’s a radio, stereo system, your stack of record albums, a calendar, a clock, an alarm clock, tons of notebooks with all your ideas, drawings, scripts, the beginnings of your first novel, your bank, your wallet, your admission ticket, your college class, your office, YOUR ENTIRE OFFICE, numerous games to play alone or with others, Trivial Pursuit, Scrabble, solitaire, and hands you the power to connect with your fellow citizens to impact and win a Nationwide Election.
(Note: Your phone cannot do everything. You cannot shoot someone with it. It cannot take your daily walk for you. It cannot fix your relationships. Even though you may love it, your phone does not love you. It may also be killing you with radiation, alienation, molestation, texting while driving, and fucking with your brain so badly that you walk into a pizza restaurant believing that it is acting as a front for a pedophile ring run by Hillary so you start shooting the place up and in the end the only one laying there dead is you.)
On a happier note, we have 72 hours until the polls close. Three days to vote to restore Women’s rights. Three days to protect and defend the rights of our Black, Latino, and LGBTQ+ sisters and brothers. Three days to silence a fascist. Three days to wipe that smug little smirk off their smug little dudebro faces. Three days to show these white supremacists and their treasonous politicians that their America no longer exists. This is THE America, the only America, and we have three days left to ensure not only that it remains that way but that we get the chance to finally finish the job to create a true and full Democracy.
And one of our best and most powerful tools to get out the vote to make that happen is that phone in our pocket. In all these years you’ve had your phone to do, well, everything, you have almost certainly amassed a massive number of people – friends, family, co-workers, neighbors, classmates – in your “CONTACTS.”
With three days to go before the voting is done, it may feel like there’s not much more we can do but wait.
But wait! What if there is just one more thing we CAN do? Instead of sitting in the dark with the drapes closed rocking back and forth muttering — “It’s gonna be okay it’s gonna be okay it’s gonna be okay it’s gonna be okay…” — you could DO SOMETHING.
As soon as you’re done reading these words, I need you to whip out your phone and open up your CONTACTS app or your ADDRESS BOOK.
Then, start at the letter ‘A’ and just start texting/calling people. It doesn’t matter if you talked to them last night, last year, or last decade. It does not matter!
Text them one simple greeting and thought:
“Hey! It’s me! I’m spending the day contacting people I know to sincerely ask that you vote for Kamala Harris so we can get this country back on track and move forward.” (Or whatever you want to say and/or personalize it.)
This is nothing more than a friendly nudge, something that most people will be happy to receive. Some will have already voted, which is great. But maybe they live in a Deep Blue or Red state where they think their vote doesn’t matter. You could explain to them that in order for Trump and MAGA Nation to get the message that we’ve had enough, Harris needs to not just win but win in a huge modern-day landslide. The larger the popular vote, the quicker the rest of the country will be able to peacefully move on.
So we need a tsunami of votes. When Trump lost by three million votes in 2016, he still won the White House. When he lost by 7 million votes in 2020 he tried to overthrow the government. We need to stop him. We need everyone – everyone – to vote, no matter where they live, and no matter how long it’s been since you last talked to them. Your phone is the last and greatest tool in our election toolkit.
So take out your phone, open up the Contacts, and start TEXTING and/or CALLING people. That’s how you can spend today and make a real difference. This is how we can get out every single last vote. It’s how we get rid of this guy for good.
That’s it. Stop reading! Start texting! Start dialing. Let’s bring this election home!
Let’s do it!

** In order to have a troll-free, hate-free comments section — and because if there’s one thing I know about my crazy haters, they would rather spend an eternity in hell with Marjorie Taylor Greene than send me $5 if forced to become a paid subscriber — my Comments section here on my Substack is limited to paid subscribers. But, not to worry — anyone can send me their comments, opinions and thoughts by writing to me at mike@michaelmoore.com. I read every one of them, though obviously I can’t respond to all. And every few weeks or so I share them publicly here on Substack and on my podcast so that your voice is heard by the multitudes in this wonderful community of readers and listeners. The solution here is not optimal but it has worked and my Comments section has become a great meeting place for people wanting to discuss the ideas and issues I raise here. There is debate and disagreement, but it is refreshing to have it done with respect and civility, unfettered by the stench of bigotry and Q-anon insanity.
I'm driving 1 or 2 clients in a treatment center to their neighboring counties so they can vote early. Took 3 yesterday to vote in the county next to mine.
I'll leave the last minute details to you kids. I'm so tired. As a 70 year old white male, I've done(by a factor of 100+) more to get out the vote for Kamala than ive ever done for anyone.
I have two reasons. First, I believe that Kamala Harris is serious when she talks about the changes she will make while upholding the Constitution and our democracy.
Trump, some former Republicans, and ALL of MAGA are actually evil. I don't know what form our government would take under their control.
I honestly believe that a MAGA/Trump/Elon government would be some combination of Naziiism, authoritarian dictatorship, or just plain chaos.
Don't expect them to just walk away after 4 years either. If we lose this, America as we've known it, will cease to exist. It will be the beggining of an American Dark Ages.
We will have to fight a very long and bloody Civil War because to return the United States to Democratic government will require the death or expulsion of every single MAGA supporter in America. That's what is at stake with this election.
I would normally say to vote, no matter who you vote for.
That's not enough this time.
Vote for Kamala Harris or you'll have to live the rest of your life with the result.
If Trump wins please ask youself, everyday from now on, " why couldn't I have just seen through all of the lies and hate put out daily by Trump, MAGA, and Elon Musk.
