It seems so simple:

Stop dropping bombs on innocent people who are just trying to live their lives.

Stop shooting people because they are angry and yelling at you; yah, it’s unpleasant, but not worthy of death.

Stop voting for people who would shoot people who are angry at them and yelling.

Free speech tends to involve anger and yelling. It doesn’t have to involve violence.

Trump would gladly shoot or execute anybody who might be angry and yelling at him… if he could get away with it.

Voting for Trump in November will hand Trump a gun, a hangman’s noose, several branches of the Military, and the Judiciary and Legislative branches.

Trump always abuses whatever power he has.

Republicans will allow this. Never vote for a Republican.

Trump is not a Christian… he’s the opposite variety. The New Testament has a word for it.

Jesus was a Jew from Palestine. He preached against violence.

It seems so simple.

OK. Since he was convicted yesterday….

Somewhere in the Multiverse:

The judge will not sentence him to even a day in jail, because he would spend that time directing ghost-writers to print up gilded editions of “Mein Trumpf,” as he would love to do.

The best punishment would be community service and a fine, and also for him to write a letter of apology in his own handwriting to Melania and to the American people.

Trumpleschtupkopf would soooo hate that.

I’m so heartened by our students. I studied the occupation of Palestine on a university level 2001-2003 but nearly got expelled for it. The internet was not nearly as extensive as it is now. There was no social media, YouTube, cell phones etc and there were no demonstrations for Palestine. Most Americans knew nothing about it. That’s how Israel got away with crimes against humanity for so long. Now the curtain has been pulled back and we all see

Mike. You have done an incredible job describing both the horror Hamas perpetuated on the Israelis, and of course, describing the plight of the Palestinians and the US relationship with Israel. Thank you for that.

Isn’t it time now, from now until the election, to try to bring some of the youth to the understanding that this is really a binary election. One between authoritarian dictatorship, and at least a chance toward a better democracy?

It may be helpful to remind people who blame Biden for the many things he has done that in the Trump regime there would be a new Muslim ban, which would include all Palestinians as well, and that Trump lump the Palestinians in with the other dwellers of shit hole countries.

And any protests like that luxury of democracy we righteously see now may be met with being shot as Trump asked the defense secretary in the waning days of his presidency.

Anger, aside, it is important for them not to throw away their vote in protest, which may very well ensure a fascist regime takes over. And the opinion of the majority will go unheard and punished.

Yours is a critical voice in this. Please use it for that goal now.

I'm a big fan of your podcast, but I'm genuinely disturbed by this episode. What I heard was very one-sided, and the rhetoric very strong: "genocide", "40,000 *martyrs*, "Zionism must fall", etc.

Without disagreeing that the Israelis and the IDF have made a lot of mistakes, there should be much more nuance here.

Israel's actions do not meet the definition of "genocide". In fact, Hamas' publicly stated intent *is* genocide, the complete destruction of Israel. (As is Putin's intent and actions regarding Ukraine... where are the student protestors for that actual ongoing genocide?)

40,000 killed in Gaza, but a significant percentage of these are Hamas fighters (who, in violation of all laws of modern warfare, purposely embed themselves among civilian populations and institutions, and have no regard for human life.) All of these Palestinians are "martyrs"?! It is tragic that so many have died, and that so many are non-combatants. But the rhetoric is very unbalanced. The students you broadcast seem to lack nuance and depth in their understanding of the issues there.

Everyone should listen to this podcast episode by Sam Harris (https://www.samharris.org/podcasts/making-sense-episodes/366-urban-warfare-2-0). Much of its content is just not reported on. I don't agree w/ everything he says; and doubtless he has his own bias; but what they discuss is highly relevant, and certainly caused me to reflect more soberly on the complexity of the situation there.

Mr. Moore: I'd love to see you bring some informed nuance to this topic, and even approach Sam Harris to have an amicable discussion about it all.

Michael: With all due respect, you sound pretty one sided in only criticising Israel when we need to call out the horrific things done by both sides including the barbaric attack by Hamas on October 7 and the brutal killings of innocent civilians in Gaza by the Israeli retaliation.

I didn’t hear from you or from any of the student leaders any condemnation of the brutal killings of innocent Israelis by Hamas terrorists on October 7, which triggered this conflict, and they are still holding on to several Israeli hostages. Hamas leaders must be having the last laugh of this public relations victory in college campuses across the globe. This is not to belittle the suffering of innocent Palestinians but Hamas is using them as human shields.

Here’s a more balanced article by the Pulitzer Prize winning journalist Thomas Friedman that makes sense and a two state solution is needed to solve this recurring problem. President Biden is pushing for it. Ironically neither Netanyahu nor Hamas is interested in it. Thoughts?

The US always advocates for a two state solution after Israel commits some horrendous crime against humanity but it goes nowhere. By God if we still supported Israel after they facilitated one of the worst war crimes in modern history in the Sabra and Shitilia refugee camp in 1982, they could get away with anything including now, genocide. Look it up.

"We just have to get through this year. Doesn’t mean there isn’t work to do next year, but we’ll do the good kind of work that’s been put off for far too long. The stuff that will take us to that place where we’ll be a full democracy, where no group of people is a second-class citizen. Come on. We’re already most of the way there. We just have the people that have held power for so long, unhappy that they’re not going to have that kind of power for much longer. They will have power still. They’ll still be rich, and they’ll still get the same number of votes you or I get: one. So it’s not like we’re going to take their voting rights away from them. They’re just not going to run the country anymore in the sort of white, male Christian way that things have always been done. And they know that. They know the clock is ticking. The time is running out. And… Sorry, not sorry. We’re going to make this country and this planet a better place. We have no choice. "

AMEN!! AMEN!! AMEN!!

THANK you, Michael!! And you know and I know and all of us know there is only one way to make that happen. One way. Vote BLUE in November!! It's the only way. It's the only. Way.

Copied and look forward to passing along so long as it makes an accurate assessment of the threats that Trump and his mobsters pose to our republic. Unfortunately, Mike Moore seems unable to make that distinction. He seems to be playing a game of Trump-will-overthrow-our-democracy AND, Biden is an equivalent evil doer. Personally, I think the situation in Israel & Gaza is not nearly as black & white as many on this thread espouse AND, I also think Biden has been an excellent president presiding over a time of great global disruption and attacks on democracy.

Netanjahu is responsible for the death of innocent people. Hamas terrorists too. How many attacks have they carried out in the past? At the moment it seems that there is a new form of antisemitism. Jewish students are afraid to go to university, Jewish musicians are not allowed to play in the Netherlands, many people demonstrate against the Jews not against Netanjahu’s government.

Regarding the student protests I don’t understand why feminists wear Nijabs and submit to Arabian patriarchalism. I’m a modern woman and I don’t accept a mediaeval system like in Saudi-Arabia or Iran. Maybe Trump dreams of a Harem - I don’t.

Here’s the real choice facing voters this November:

“As President Biden said last week when he challenged Donald Trump to debate, the President has a list of things he’d like to talk to Trump about:

How Trump was the architect of the repeal of Roe – and wants to go even further in a second term;

How Trump attacks our democracy, continues to embrace political violence, and spreads conspiracies about the election he lost, and plans to punish his enemies, silence his opponents, and incite more chaos, division, and violence if he regains power;

And how his economic plans, from his billionaire tax giveaways to his plans to gut Social Security and Medicare, would make him and his friends richer and jack up costs for the middle class – the same fraudulent and self-centered approach he’s taken his entire life.

In the month leading up to that first debate, the Biden-Harris campaign will zero in on Trump’s dangerous campaign promises and unhinged rhetoric making sure that the voters who will decide this election are reminded of the chaos and harm Trump caused as president – and why they booted him out four years ago. Trump and his lagging campaign will be left to explain to voters why he embraces political violence, brags about abortion bans, threatens to repeal the Affordable Care Act and cut Social Security and Medicare, and puts greedy corporations and himself over American workers again and again.

Biden-Harris will drive these key themes across the entire campaign in the lead-up to the debate, including through new paid media efforts, earned media opportunities, and on the ground organizing and battleground events to bring the stakes of this election to every voter who will decide it.

The campaign will organize around key moments, including:

The anniversary of the Dobbs decision, which took reproductive freedoms away from millions of women, which Trump says he's "proud" to have done.

The anniversary of the Pulse nightclub shooting, where a weapon of war was used to murder 49 people – a tragedy to any normal person, but to Trump just something we should all just “get over”

And while we focus on these key issues in the run-up to Atlanta, Team Biden-Harris will also continue to bolster its outreach and organizing programs around other mobilizing issues with the communities that will decide this election.

All the while, we should expect Team Trump to do what it does best: nothing. Their bare-bones campaign would take a few Truth Social rants with a MAGA rally sprinkled in over having their candidate out there talking about the issues that Americans care most about. Because when Trump’s abortion-banning, billionaire-shilling, election-denying agenda is on the ballot, it’s a loser. Just like Trump.”

Trump says … he was gone… in reference to Cohen . He then flashes the White Power hand salute, for the second time after mentioning Cohen.

After watch ing the entire speech, I noticed he repeatedly flashed the White Power salute and then made a finger point, like a child pretending to shoot a gun. That’s how he ended his speech.

So, which side are you on Michael?

You understand that MAGA Republicans plan to overthrow democracy as you clearly state here.

And yet you end with - and applaud- a student quote about “genocide” and how this student (this movement) will never forget and never forgive.

Given that you’ve been bashing Biden for months now, are you on the side of never forgetting or forgiving? And, does this mean you’re ok to have our democracy toppled because you see some kind of moral equivalence here?

Is your next tidbit of advice to not vote in 2024 or vote third party. Just to be clear: sitting it out or voting third party IS A VOTE FOR TRUMP.

If not forgetting or forgiving AND, not voting for Biden (aka democracy) is what you’re advocating for, I’d say you’ve become yet another form of cancer and there will be many will not forget or forgive YOU if democracy is toppled and you’ve worked toward that end.

PS. If you think Trump is going to be a humanitarian for the Palestinians, I’ve got some oceanfront property in Arizona to sell you. Be careful of intended or unintended consequences.
