Presidential adviser Karl Rove was in Buffalo Friday, trying to boost the campaign of a congressman embroiled in the Mark Foley scandal.
Rove spoke Friday night at a fundraiser for Representative Tom Reynolds.
Reynolds is facing a tough re-election fight after admitting he knew of former Congressman Mark Foley's inappropriate emails to male pages well before they were made public.
Rove's appearance is part of an effort by GOP officials to keep Democratic challenger Jack Davis from winning Reynolds' seat.
First Lady Laura Bush is scheduled to campaign with Reynolds and other Republican candidates next week.
