Subject: Bless you,
Michael.
Michael:
Bless you for getting all of the material and making it possible for people to see the past four years in one view. Especially in the controlling way these people are saying the same few things (lies) over and over again AND as you made clear -- the state of fear and false patriotism are clouding the minds of many. It is difficult for the average busy, struggling citizen to bring the past four years together. Brainwashing: the theory that by saying the same thing every day (several times a day) that people will start believing it.
The film was well developed with a lot of the facts and realities made very clear. You missed many things, but I understand that you were limited to a certain amount of time.
I am retired military and have a Master degree in science and education and that I have been training director in industry and teacher in public schools . You mentioned it, but you couldn't spend two hours going in to what has been whittled away (or attempted) from retired military and veterans. I could go on for hours. Am I better off now than before? NO, NO, a thousand times NO.
During the '90's, the retired military and veterans made a little progress to get the promised benefits we have been fighting for over the last 40 years. Primarily in the area of medical and prescription drugs. The gains we fought so long for, and gained in the late '90's have been taken away, or threatened. An example is that between Christmas and New Year last year, the defense department tried to increase the price of prescriptions by mail and tried to make us start paying full price for prescriptions from a military installation. It was stopped by keeping on it and going to Congress. Congress told us that there is no way they can stop it from materializing once this party is back in power.
Shame on them. The military who are giving up their lives, jobs and families for this war are going to get nothing a veteran should get.
I am presently at one of the Armed Forces Retirement Home. It is supported completely by money paid each month by every military person and the residents here. NO tax money is used. This administration (Secretary of Defense) put a person in here to run things. He has cut back everything -- number of employees, pay for employees, etc., until it is running very inefficiently. Services are suffering. Why? I am sure that the money we put in here is/will be used to pay for this personal/familial war. The Defense Secretary said they will get money from other parts of the Defense Department. I'm sure they will dip into the money like they dip into Social Security, etc., etc. They not only don't cut what we pay monthly, but are going to raise our fees.
These are the same people who did the same things to the people and the country during the other Bush administration. I hope and pray (and with your help, and what I can do to help) that the American public will be smart and brave enough to throw this one out like we did the first Bush.
It is sad that they placed the same people (VP, Sec. of Def) in office with only two things in mind. To do what the father failed to do, get rid of Saddam, and serve a second term. That is why Bush flew onto the aircraft carrier and said the war was over. HIS war, not the hundreds killed and thousands injured since the "end" of his war. Not to mention the mess the country is in economically.
No one ever mentions the danger of having many governors, both houses of congress, the White House, AND the Supreme Court all from one party. The Constitution was written to make sure this does not happen. Doesn't anyone see that but me?
I am not a "party" man. I am for the best person. I am not registered in any party.
