Subject: Another Grandmother for Peace
Dear Michael and all those who made this film,
Thank you for presenting such a moving, wonderful and depressing film about the war we are engaged in at this time. I am the grandmother of a soldier who joined the army when he was a senior in high school for the usual reasons, to get a college education, and to be trained as a pilot. Thus far, he has not been educated, has spent one year in Bosnia, one year in S.Korea, and various US bases. He is a mechanic and crew chief on the blackhawk helicopter. Many of the soldiers he knows have been extended beyond their discharge date due to the "stop-gap" measure. He is totally against the war, and has stood at several war protests carrying a sign, "soldier against the war". He does not appear in uniform at these protests.
My grandson was trained with Michael Pederson, the young man who was mentioned in your film. They were co-crew chiefs on the blackhawk in Bosnia, and served in the US together for about 4 years. The others on the helicopter were also soldiers he worked with.
I wish every citizen who has the honor to vote in the United States, was required to view your film.
Sincerely,
Susan L.Neumann
Another Grandmother for Peace
