Arizona
Phoenix
Hello i live in Phoenix, AZ i grew up here in one of the poorest parts of the city. Hispanic and white mixed i was part of what now is the majority of "America" The house that my family lived in was constructed of adobe and wood scraps. My grandparents who were both born in Arizona spent a lifetime raising 4 children and 5 grandchildren in a house made of mud. Eventually the Phoenix airport started buying the property around the ghetto and moving people out of their homes. While my grandfather laid dying in a hospice my grandmother was being relocated to her new home. Since living in her new home , we have seen the neighborhood go from a wonderful populated area. To a run down part of the city where robberies occur daily. People stealing cabinets , refrigerators , and even doors . All of these empty homes have now became a second ghetto for the end of my grandmothers life.
So, as much as i know many people all over suffer from homes being taken, and lives being lost. I know she is happy to just still have a place to live . I can not ignore the situation in my neighborhood and I stay up nightly , just to make sure no one is stealing from the surrounding houses. I am sure you hear horror stories from all over. But i wanted to do my part and show you how a neighborhood looks with almost 50% of the homes vacant just on one street that used to be so alive and wonderful.
