Michael Moore's latest project, "Capitalism: A Love Story," will debut in September at the Venice Film Festival.
This is Moore's fifth major film. In "Love Story," the documentary producer will turn his efforts to explaining the global economic meltdown.
On Moore's Web site, the film is described as focusing on "the disastrous impact that corporate dominance and out-of-control profit motives have on the lives of Americans and citizens of the world."
It is set to be released in the U.S. on Oct. 2.
"Capitalism: A Love Story" will compete in the 66-year-old film festival -- the oldest in the world -- for the Golden Lion, the festival's highest award.
Other titles entered include Werner Herzog's remake of "The Bad Lieutenant," starring Nicolas Cage, Eva Mendes and Val Kilmer. It will also feature the directorial debut of former Gucci designer Tom Ford.
Ford's film "A Single Man" stars Julianne Moore and Colin Firth.
The festival runs Sept. 2-12.
