The Wizard Will See You Now, Scott Walker

I've been thinking of how Republicans and Tea Partyers hate socialism, communism and want less government -- but don't act like it. The Governor of Wisconsin, the great Cheese Head himself, wants to kill collective bargaining for public unions -- in other words, give no control to Wisconsinites like teachers and other state employees, and all control to the state government in Wisconsin when it comes to working conditions.

Let's be real and call this what it is: lobbying by the states highest public officials for higher salaries for themselves. Governor Cheese Head, why don't you start by reducing your salary 5-10%, and then the salary of all elected official from your office on down for every elected public and appointed position as an example of real honest reform and budget cuts? Yes, put your money where your mouth is.

While sometimes its absolutely necessary for government to exercise all control, there are times when it's not best.

I applauded the control of safety regulations imposed on flying passengers after 9/11 for the nations safety -- like using a valid photo ID. There are still many who find it too time consuming and unnecessary.

But honestly Governor, attempting to remove collective bargaining under the disguise of budget cuts is like the Wicked Witch of the West going to the Wizard of Oz and claiming to be Glenda. We all see it for what it is and we aren't even as powerful as Oz.

So the Wizard will see you now, Scott Walker! He is out of courage, he gave it to the firefighters. He is out of hearts, he gave it to the nurses. He is out of brains, he gave it to the teachers. (Unfortunately, he is also out of humor, he gave that to the clowns and I can still hear them laughing.)
