You know what really makes me sick about the Republican Party? For eight years, we had what they want us to think was the blissful splendor that was the George W. Bush administration. Well, we know what a complete mess that turned out to be. No matter how much the GOP wants to sit and say that all of the problems we are facing now are Obama’s fault; not once will you ever hear them say that George Bush is complicit. He was a two term president, and a sacred cow to them. They say anything bad about anything that happened under Dubya’s watch, and they will alienate any voters that are upset a Democrat won in 2008.
It’s all Obama’s fault. That’s their first answer and what seems to be their answer to everything. Barack did it, not George. I’ve said this before, the platform that Barack Obama took in the 2008 campaign was promising change. That he was going to do the best he can to clean up the mess that the GOP left by promising to try and bring some sort of change. But it didn’t happen as quick as they wanted, and now they are all crying foul. Saying that he didn’t deliver on his promises.
I’ve said this before and I will continue to say it; I don’t agree with everything Obama says, but look at the set of problems he was handed three years ago. Actual change takes time. It takes a lot longer to fix a problem than it does to create one. They call b.s. on the stimulus package, saying that those checks we all got in the mail was wasteful government spending. Meanwhile, before 9/11 George W. Bush told us all the check was in the mail. So many of the things the Republican Party accuse Democrats and President Obama of they have done themselves. That’s just one.
None of the members of the Republican Party will agree on anything Obama says, ever. Because some of the more influential folks on that side of the fence want his job. And not that you do not already know this, they are going to resort to any means necessary to get his job. Look at Michele Bachmann at the debate last night. She’s taking the health care reform legislation, and using the name “ObamaCare” as if it were an insult. She actually went on live television and told the story of the owner of a restaurant that had to lay off a fifth of his work force because of ObamaCare. A plan that isn’t supposed to take effect for another few years to begin with. Everyone needs health insurance, and it’s not like people will have to foot the full bill themselves. She’s so far off on her facts that it isn’t even funny.
However, if I could sum it up; here’s how I would put it. They’ll tell just enough of the truth that when the slip the lie in, people buy into the lie even more than the truth. Nothing they say can really be trusted. Because they are saying it under the guise of trying to get someone else’s job. Doing something in a spiteful manner never does anything to help you, it’s just hurts all parties involved.
