My wife and I were talking about the various news stories of the week this morning when once again the subject of Donald Trump’s impending decision to announce his candidacy for president of the United States came up. This really got my blood boiling. The past couple of weeks the readers of my blog have seen a rather lighthearted side of me; poking fun at a lot of different things. This time I am deathly serious and I wholeheartedly apologize if you were looking for a chuckle. This is not one of those times.
Never mind the fact that Trump wants to have President Obama prove that he is really a United States Citizen. The whole media blitz and publicity surround Trump’s candidacy for president is disgusting and anyone that takes it seriously is a buffoon that should have their head examined, The Donald included. I’m not an expert on politics by any means; but one of the few things I take seriously in our country’s political process is the office of The President. Donald Trump is treating it like a damn joke. First off, he makes a presidential-esque speech about running on a Comedy Central Roast. Second of all, he has been teasing people for weeks now about how he is going to announce his final decision on the finale episode of The Apprentice. For someone that on two occasions was sent into harms way by presidential decision; announcing that you are running on a game show reeks of sickening publicity stunt by someone that isn’t really serious at all and makes me ill. I mean come on Donald, at least the last time a multi millionaire ran for President he was at least serious about it. Ross Perot may have been looked at like a kook; but at least he was serious about it. You don’t care about helping the country one bit Donald, you just want more people to know who you are. As if they don’t already. So cut out the dog and pony show. All you are doing is taking away press from someone that can rightfully do the job. If you are so against Obama, do what every other horrifically rich person does; donate to his eventual opponent. That way you’ll still get your publicity, but you won’t screw the country over all in the effort of letting everyone know you’re Donald Trump.
