July 23 (Bloomberg) -- Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid said the Senate will wait until September to vote on health-care legislation, missing President Barack Obama's deadline for a vote by the August recess.
Reid told reporters that Republicans wanted more time to work on the measure.
"It's better to have a product based on quality and thoughtfulness rather than just jamming something through," Reid said today in Washington. "There was a decision last night not to do this legislation" before September, he said.
