DENVER—The editor of the Colorado State University student newspaper faces a disciplinary hearing next week and could be fired over an editorial that directed an obscenity at President Bush.
The board that oversees the Rocky Mountain Collegian decided Thursday to open a formal hearing on October 4th about the newspaper's editor-in-chief, J. David McSwane.
The editorial had only four words: "Taser this: (Expletive) Bush." It was a response to the Tasering of a student at the University of Florida.
A public meeting on Wednesday attracted hundreds of students, many defending McSwane. The newspaper's governing board said it had received hundreds of complaints.
