Michael Moore,
What I am proposing may seem naïve, but I believe that within the next two years Progressives must organize under one umbrella. We did it here in Kansas City in the 80’s under the name of “The Coalition against Non-intervention in Central America”. Gay rights organizations, unions, farmers, peace groups, those who supported the legalization of marijuana, teachers, students and many others. Today’s umbrella group would be called the coalition to remove Republicans from office and push forward our progressive agenda. It will take a lot of work, but as Republicans run the Government into the ground organization should be easier.
I am asking for your support, I have been sending notices to the progressive groups in Kansas City. You reach across America. We must do this to ensure that there is not a boot on the head of unorganized groups attacking right wing extremists all on their own. Under our Umbrella group the man who pinned the female Move On worker who was knocked to the ground and then stomped on would have been defended by a fierce group who work for peace but are not pacifists. We must not sit idly by and take this abuse any longer. A boot to the head gets a blow to the noggin.
Will you please help organize this group calling upon all progressive groups to join under one flag, a flag for jobs, peace, education, a public option, unions, NORML, NARAL, and constantly denouncing the two percent who control the 80% of the wealth, denouncing tea party elected Reps and Senators on their home court without fear? We are still the majority and together if we get out more than 31 percent of registered voters as in Kansas City then the house will belong to progressives an the Senators who come up for re-election will have to finally take us seriously.
Thank you,
Steven Addison

Can you make some kind of movie exposing the lies these right wing politicians and Fox News (and others) continue to churn?! Listening to their outright lies about everything makes my stomach turn. Thanks for taking my question!
p.s. you were terrific with Lawrence this evening!

Hi Mike, I just rewatched Sicko and as a Canadian with universal health care, I'm wondering, have there been any improvements to the American Health Care System since you made this movie?

First let me state I am a huge fan, I know you have heard this before ,and I am not a fan of much now. If Obama does extend the Bush tax cuts for the top 2 percent and we do not stop outsourcing our jobs to China and else where I will be even more dissolutioned. What can I do in 2012 when there is no one I believe in and no one that deserves my vote?

Hi Mike,
What is your opinion of mental health system? Too many people are given psychiatric drugs, especially children; sometimes, these medications make people worse not better. Therapy as well as yoga, meditation, exercise, etc. is more effective than drugs.
I should know I have personal experience with depression, anxiety and alternative treatments have help me better than medication. Perhaps, you need make a sequel to "SIcko" that mentions abuses in the mental health system.

Mike,
What do you think we can do to make a case for ending the for-profit prison industrial complex in our country? Have you decided what your next documentary will be on? Are you going to make an updated version of Fahrenheit 9/11? That would be awesome.
Thanks.

Hi Mike! I am so frustrated, I thought I would send you a question, to see if you are thinking along the same lines that I am. Alan Greenspan... Do you think he really didn't know what was going on? Our country's financial advisor? I just keep going back to the thought of this 'Elitist Society' theory. The collapse of our economy. Was it done on purpose? Do they want things like they were before World War 2? The haves and the have nots? NO middle class? What are your thoughts?

I was wondering why our Federal, State, and local governments seem to ignore USC 41 and the requirement that government agencies give preference to US made products whenever purchases are made for public use? I have not heard any comments on this in the media. Certainly our government agencies ought to buy American-made desks, copiers, uniforms, ect since it is in the "public interest" to create jobs. Please comment if you will. Thanks!

Michael,
I am an ex corporate executive with a ridiculous pension that started for me at age 55. I am selfish and I am not giving it back but I abhor the executive compensation system. I will gladly pay higher taxes. I voted for Barack Obama and I thought he was part of a solution. After watching the documentary/movie "Inside Job" I no longer believe that Obama is part of the solution. I will donate $, time, effort or whatever it takes to get Eliot Spitzer elected president. What do you think?

Hi Mike - To be a progressive or liberal today in America takes some effort. Most of TV and certainly most of radio is ran by conservatives with their corporate agenda. If you have cable you can get Keith, Rachel, Ed and now, Lawrence on the tube. On radio, unless you subscribe to a satilite provider, you can't get anyone. I think radio is most effective for getting the message out (Look at Rush, unfortunately). How can we get more free radio outlets on the airwaves so Americans can hear us?

Hi Mike: I watched you tonight and last night on Lawrence O'Donnell and couldn't agree with you more. My question is, if I e-mail my state senators does anyone read those e-mails? How can I best get my feelings of disappointment and anger across to these people? I just can't believe how they keep giving in and talking about compromise. Please advise

Hi Mike:
This was a very interesting comment by Lawrence O'Donnell:

Do you think that Rand Paul would actually do this? My own suspicion is that Paul will do what he's told by his masters, but I'd like your opinion.
Cheers,

Hello Mike!
Much has been made of Adam Smith and his work "An Inquiry into the Nature and Causes of the Wealth of Nations". Free marketeers cite his work as the ultimate expression of Free Market/Laissez-faire capitalism, yet a careful reading of it reveals anything but. Isn't it about time we had a real debate about what he said, and how today's 'Feudal Capitalism' runs entirely counter to his writings? :The Bastard Sons of Adam" would make a great documentary! 'Classe sterile' indeed!

I feel the Democratic Party let Obama down. It would appear he missed his major opportunities by an inability to muster needed votes and consensus within his own party. Now he seems in a weaker position to move his agenda froward. Is there any hope that this administration can resolve problems effectively such as jobs, an affordable health care bill, and an end to these wars? Is he just another great communicator in an empty suit? If so, what a disappointment.

I love Capitalism: A Love Story. What great movie and what a terrible story! It borders on the unbelievable, but... I believe it. About an hour in, coming out of Bishop Gumbleton and over the Citibank building, there's a beautiful piece of music with a tango rhythm. Please tell me what it is...

Mike, why didn't you oppose Rick Snyder during the 2010 election for governor?
As bad as the venture capitalist and former Gateway executive is on social issues, do you think his plan for Michigan's economy actually could work?
Thanks.

Mike, on the Lawrence O'Donnell appearance you mentioned that 47 percent of blue dogs won their races in the midterms, compared to 99 percent of the progressives who won. I repeated this statement in a discussion yesterday and was called on the 99% figure. Since then I haven't been able to find anything to back up the claim. Cn you point me to some supporting figures, please?
Thanks,
Curtis

I agree with a lot of what you said on Lawrence O'Donnell's show, especially about standing for something. I've got a practical question which I hope you'll comment on. The Tea Party/GOP is already in campaign mode for 2012. They have got all that anonymous corporate money to use for anti-Democratic ads (thanks to the Citizens United decision.) It's difficult to see how we can match, let alone outspend them. What do you see as options?
