Dear Michael,
I cannot tell you the inner torment that this "war" has caused me. We live near Ft. Sam Houston where Brooke General Hospital is located. We are now beginning to see the wounded as they are being integrated back into the community so they can cope in it in increments while they are still undergoing treatment at BAMC. They are going through the motions, but their eyes are dead and uncomprehending. How long does it take for one to realize that one's feet are gone...forever?
How disgusting that that little twit-shit president is so untouched by all this tragedy he has caused. I feel physically ill when I see him on the telly.
How can that idiot Bush send them off to make such life-threatening/life-changing sacrifices and not make sure they are properly armed and clothed and guaranteed health-care forever, etc, etc.?!
