mike-
I am an avid fan. I have read your material, watched your latest documentary,
and listened to you're views on countless programs. I have to say I agree with
everything you stand for, and I have tried to follow those footsteps in the
Army. Although it is not easy (and I have gotton hemmed up for my mouth on several
occasions), I continue to use my voice. After all, I am still a citizen and
I have a right to my beliefs.
I will be the first to tell you... when those high ranking soldier Bushies walk
into my barracks room see the faces of Abbie Hoffman, Newton, You, Dean, and
various others scattered across my wall- feelings go in a strange direction.
It closely resembles the twilight zone.
Either way, I refuse to change my outlook just because I am a soldier.
I would like to tell you how difficult it is to serve under a man who was never
elected. Because he is the president and my boss, I have to be very careful
as to who and what i say about him. This also concerns me a great deal... to
limit the military's voice is to limit exactly what America stands for... and
the greater percentage of us feel completely underpowered. He continually sets
my friends, my family, and several others in a kind of danger that frightens
me beyond belief. I know several other soldiers who feel the same way and discuss
the situation with me on a regular basis. That is why I have decided to join
you. If you ever need my help, mike, I will be glad to rally troops and do what
I can for a great cause.
thanks for everything you do mike.
It makes a difference to everyone... including soldiers.
