Wanda Hernandez is a Board Member of the New York City AIDS Housing Network (NYCAHN) and has been HIV-positive for fifteen years. Born in Puerto Rico and raised in El Barrio, Ms. Hernandez now lives in the Bronx and is an outspoken advocate for social justice in New York. During the past year alone, she has testified during a City Council General Welfare Committee briefing, Senate Social Services Committee hearing, and participated in a special White Housing meeting on HIV/AIDS and homelessness. After receiving a bachelor's degree in business management, she worked in various business administrative positions during her career. Ms. Hernandez is also the proud mother of a daughter and grandson, and frequently writes poetry.
