Auction 2012: Greedy Bastards and Student Debt

Imagine a product so irresistible that most Americans thought they couldn't live without it.  Every President talked of its importance, and it was perceived of as the key to you or your child's future.  There was a limited supply, and prices kept going up.  The best business to be in ... continue reading

Auction 2012: Top 10 Reasons to Get Money Out

Tonight we see returns from the New Hampshire primary, the second contest in the Republican Presidential nomination. Bought Justice and the Supreme Court

The Supreme Court looms over our political landscape like a giant, immovable object. Americans have traditionally respected the court's purview, believing that it serves justice, dispassionately. Yet the most controversial decision of the last twenty five years -- Bush v. Gore -- has profoundly shaken that sentiment. And other decisions, ... continue reading

How Did Our Oil Get Under Their Sand?

It's somewhat rare to hear a Senator tell the truth about American foreign policy, but we did get a glimpse of reality last week when Senator Lindsey Graham lustily talked about the death of Gadhafi. He said, "There's a lot of money to be made in the future in Libya. ... continue reading

To Be With the 99%, President Obama Must Fire Tim Geithner

In my last piece, I talked about how Tim Geithner's job over the past five years has been to (a) print money, (b) give it to rich friends, and (c) deny everyone else legal and financial rights. This shows up everywhere, from the 0% you get on your savings account ... continue reading

Constitutional Moments: The People's Voice

Today we face a crushing burden of foreclosures, dropping incomes, and a financial elite that has bought our government. The elite consensus is powerful enough to prevent change, no matter who is elected. The situation seems, at least in electoral terms, hopeless. Yet, America has been here before, and has ... continue reading

Get Money Out: Making Waves

Get Money Out: Join 100,000 Americans

Get Money Out: We the People, not the Politicians

Debt Ceiling Politics: Fearocracy or Democracy?

Osama Bin Laden's death cast the fear in our politics into stark relief.
