Blogger Profile: Reggie Cervantes

Reggie Cervantes was born in New York City to Puerto Rican parents. Reggie lived and received her primary education in Puerto Rico. She returned as a teen to live in New York City and became an Emergency Medical Technician. On September 11th, 2001, Reggie was one of the responders early on the scene who assisted in the rescue efforts at the World Trade Center. As a result of her experience, Reggie and her children wrote a book which explains to a child, in their terms, what Post Traumatic Stress is. She is currently awaiting publishing of her second book. Reggie was featured in Michael Moore’s 2007 documentary "SiCKO" for which she traveled to Cuba for health care. Reggie now does motivational speaking to children K-12 and to troubled youth. She is still committed to community service as an active health care advocate and 9/11 responder advocate.
